Remarks
I chose LPU because of the excellent placements it provides, good study environment, friendly professors and well-maintained labs. Negatives are quite less but the one thing that I hate is the lack of free time in our schedule. We have intense pressure on us. The admission usually starts around may and there's a scholarship test called LPUNEST. Students can also take admission based on merits or another national entrance test. I don't regret my choice. The environment of LPU is really good over the other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Nutrition and Dietetics because of my interest in food and related products to human health. It was a strong point of interest because of wish I opted for this course. There are about 2 professors to 15 students which is extremely good. Most of the professors are having at least a PhD degree and a lot of teaching experience in their respective fields. Exams were easy to pass if paid enough attention in class. Questions were all the ones that were taught in class.
Internships Opportunities
The placements are done on campus and as mentioned already a lot of companies varying from time to time like Microsoft, Infosys, Google. Programmer, software engineer, interns, roles like this are offered in the companies.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the last semester. A lot of companies like Microsoft, Google, Nestle and a lot of other companies have visited the campus for placements. High packages were offered to deserving candidates. The highest package offered was 45 lakhs per annum by Microsoft to a BTech student. The placement rate is high with above 90% of a student getting placed. I am planning to work in the food industry and gain experience working in the food business.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a private university the fees is on a higher side but it's completely worth it. It's about 45000 per semester but the efforts and facilities provided by the teachers make it worth it. Scholarships are provided on the total fees based on the LPUNEST test or other national entrance test.
Campus Life
LPU hosts a lot of functions throughout the year and on different occasions. There's one event or the other every week. The library has a wide collection of books for almost every need of the students and the borrowing system is digitalised. The classrooms are wide and spacious with projectors and ACs. The campus have Basketball Courts, Football Court, Skating Ground, Gyms and also a swimming pool is being made. It has a division of student welfare run and maintained by students that host different events regularly.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are divided into different categories based on the need of the student. There are single room, double shared room, three seated room or 4 seated room. The rooms are quite spacious with a balcony and a bathroom attached. AC and fans are available along with a study table and bed. Food is provided 4 times a day in the mess starting from breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner. The menu is different every day and they provide quality food. We had to register for our hostel after our admission was done. It was done almost simultaneously and we got rooms in different buildings depending on the availability and luck. The price is on the higher side but it's affordable.
Interview Experience
So the entrance test was an online exam called LPUNEST which is both counted as a scholarship test and entrance test. The questions were related to the chosen subject and it was the basics that we learned throughout our education. Not many preparations are required if we have our basics cleared up.
