Entrance Preview

I took COMED-K entrance exam, My rank was 19000. I wanted to go for the computer science branch, and with my rank, this was the best available option. Moreover, had heard a few good feedbacks about this college from a couple of relatives whose kids have studied from the same college.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The curicullar was just fine, however, due to "not very good and experienced" teachers, I felt a lack of proper guidance. We had Operation Research and Micro controller as the option subjects.

Internships Opportunities

The college did not provide internship to any of the branches. If you have contacts, and can arrange one for yourself, you luck, however, more than 95 percent of the students did not get any internship opportunities from the college.

Placement Experience

0.5

Campus recruitments from the college was just ok. below are the list of companies that visited the campus during my final year, along with the packages they offered : Infosys : 3.25 LPA - hired 25 students(approx), Emphasis : 3.25 LPA (Hired 6-7 students approx), Tech Mahindra : 3.07 LPA (Hired 8 students-I was one of them).

College Events

2.5

There were very few celebrations in the college, and I feel the celebrations were not at par with the other colleges of bangalore . We had an annual day celebration of 3 days in the month of march-april, known as the gold rush. First two days were quiz, exhibition, and all study related stuff, and last day was all fun with music and dance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since the college is located in a remote city around 90 kms from bangalore, the fee structure was reasonable compared to its counterparts in Bangalore. CS,IS and ECE branches were Rs.90000 per annum, and other branches(mech, EEE, mining) we Rs 75000 per annum. Apart from these, there were additional miscellaneous charges of approx 20000 per annum in the name of facilities, exam fee, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no scholarship or loan facility offered by the college, or atleast I am not aware of any such facility with the college.

Campus Life

3.5

Diversity ration was quite reasonable, the remote location of the college. We had students from different parts of India, however, there was no foreign student in the college. Gender diversity was low, as we had approx 7-8 female students in every branch with strength 70-76 students. There were no cultural activities apart from the couple of them I mentioned above.

Exam Structure

There were total 7 subjects and 2 labs each semester, and we had three internal exams of 25 marks each subject. An average of best 2 of these 3 internals was taken into consideration. Pass marks was 15. Apart from this, there was one external exam every semester for 100 marks. So total marks obtained was out of 125.

Faculty

1.5

Few of the professors were really experienced and good, however, most of the faculty was inexperienced and a disaster. The placements were not that good, and hence, they used to hire their own students completing studies, as faculty members.

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

Placement Experience:

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.
