Remarks
Time spent in college was one of the best. Faculties are helpful and friendly. Students get exposure to extracurricular activities. Sports facilities are good. Placements are also decent. Average salary at my time was 3 lac. And more than 80 % gets placements.
Entrance Preview
I took CET examination after getting decent score in CET I chose computer engineering because it's booming sector all over the world esp india. Admission process was smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview
At my time Course curriculum was covering almost all the specializations that spring out from computer engineering branch. Electives are mostly for last 2 semesters. Electives that were offered were of IT rules and regulations, other was related to machine learning other was about look and feel and designing of software's and websites.
Internships Opportunities
Yes college provided internship. It introduces freshers to corporate world and idea about developing software's stipend wasn't much.
Placement Experience
Placement and job opportunities are decent. More than 80 % gets placement. Rest go for Higher education. Training and placement officers are friendly and helpful. MNC'S like cap Gemini, Infosys, syntel, zycus apart from that many small firms also come to college for placements.
College Events
Atharva is famous for its events. It has ieee 360, csi, ganpati, fashion shows and sports events. In technical events like ieee 360 and csi there are debates, presentations and games. College has a big auditorium which is helpful in events and during world cup final matches. Ganpati chaturthi event is awesome.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's feasible. Good compared to other colleges. Fees are in between 60 k to 70 k. Other colleges in mumbai having fee structures above 70 k providing same facilities as that of atharva. Atharva gives one of best facilitis in mumbai in less fees. Apart from fees students pay separately for stationary and industrial visits.
Fees and Financial Aid
College offers some earning opportunities for needy students. Apart from that I haven't seen college providing any financial help. Although students get some scholarship from government as per castes.
Campus Life
Crowd is decent. About Gender ratio is also good. Labs are average. Sports Is good. College has its own basket ball stadium and swimming pool. Atharva college is considered as one of the best in mumbai for infrastructure. Many opportunities for extracurricular activities there are various groups conducting events. Groups like csi , ieee, ember and pol etc.
Hostel Facilities
Atharva don't have any hostel facilities although students coming from outside live as paid guest in nearby apartments. Rent for room could go upto 20 to 30 k for 1bhk but if shared within 2 to 4 students it becomes affordable. Mess food is good. Atharva has hotel management college. Mess is managed by hotel management people.
Alumni/Alumna
Every passed out student is asked to fill out a firm for alumni. There is one group named ember. Members of that group took use of alumni and built ground satellite station with the help of senior students and universities in which senior students were doing higher studies.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is relied on mumbai university. It has total 8 semesters. First and last year's examinations are checked by mumbai university while the rest by college itself. There are two exams internal (practical and oral ) and written. students are expected to pass both of exams. Each written exam has 3 to 4 days in between so students get time to prepare unless student has backlogs. If student gets backlog he or she needs to clear it in next semester.
Faculty
Some faculties are above average. Others are average. Overall average faculty. Faculty was helpful and friendly. There are some faculties having in depth knowledge of the subject. Faculties take extra time out to solve students doubts. Faculties do put efforts to prepare students well for exams and placements.
