Remarks
I choose Bhawanipur College because I had to do Chartered Accountancy along with B.Com (H) and there would not have been a better option than Bhawanipore College. The merits of my college are as follows: It is one of the good colleges of Calcutta University. The college provides us with different societies, cells and clubs that help us to interact with new people around the country. The teachers are really helpful. They are annual fests Umaag grabs the attention of the whole city because of the Bollywood stars that come and perform in the college. The attendance requirements are very low. The demerits of the college are as follows: the infrastructure is not good. Percentage-wise section division demotivates many students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The admission was merit-based so I had no problem in getting the admission. Since I'm a student of commerce background so I choose B.COM(H). Also, it would assist me in Chartered Accountancy. The teachers are very intelligent and they have a unique way of teaching us. We had no problem in giving the exams since we were trained beforehand by the faculty. The online examinations were not so difficult.
Placement Experience
The placement percentage of my college is around 75-80% and most roles are offered in accounts and remarketing. Placements are decent with an average salary between 3-4 lakhs. Top recruiting companies of our college are HDFC bank, Axis Bank, ITC, KPMG and Delloite.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of my college is quite nominal and affordable since it is a government college and the funding are received by the government. The fees for one year is Rs 47500. There is some reduction in fees for the weaker and the reserved section of the society.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest of my college is Umang. The various Bollywood celebrities come and perform. There are different societies and cells in my college like the Placement cell, the Drama Society, Women Development Cell etc that helps us to bring out the best in us and make us interact with the outside world.
