Entrance Preview
I did diploma in Civil Engg and scored 89.07%. On basis of diploma score I got admission in direct second year of this college ( i didnt have to give any entrance exam) For civil engg after VJTI and SP, Datta meghe college of engg is ranked third After doing diploma its difficult to get in SP and VJTI unless u get above 90 or may be 91 %
Course Curriculum Overview
Syllablus is as per Mumbai university and its covers our our field quite well only problem is that use of computers in civil engg is not covered well Teaching is good compared to most of the other private colleges in mumbai 75% attendance is required. Yet attendance till 60% is ok
Internships Opportunities
No intership is provided by college
Placement Experience
For civil most of the students have their own business or go or higher studies so no one is imterested in placement generally. So placement is not that good in datta meghe for civil Yet in past few bright students have got packages around 5 Lakhs annually in Technip a strucutural engg company.
College Events
Events like Milestone ie cultural event for in house college studentsWe have techfest which has technical and fun events but mostly people within college only participate . Not many students from outside participate. We also have sports festival which covers major sports events. For civil department it is organised by students body ACES
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is arount 1 lakh rs per year which is almost decent figure for private colleges although govervent colleges like SP and VJTi have fees around nd 50 thousand per year.No hostel facility is available. Rented Flats and paying guest are the two ways to get accommodation
Fees and Financial Aid
If you are in top 2 of civil engg in your year u get ratan tata scholarship, No other scholarship are available. Yet government freeships for caste is available
Campus Life
In civil gender ratio (M/F) is 8. Very few girls opt for civil engg. Workshops are conducted many times Mostly Marathi people from descent background with other caste being in minortiy
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful. Many of them are at good posts in goverment jobs like TMC, Irrigation projects or in private companies earning good salariesFew passouts are in IITs or IIMs for higher studies or For MS out of India.
