OJEE, I opted for this college because of its reputation but the college doesn't match it's reputation. In fact, nowhere near it.

There is no focus on research and the they don't let you choose your electives. The electives are pre-decided and outdated. They do not help in the long run in any way.

No the college had absolutely no provision for internships. On the contrary they used to make us run from one office to another in order to get an approval for even a self sponsored internship. It used to be very disgusting and discouraging.

You get only IT jobs in the name of placement with the maximum package being 3.2 lacs p.a. If one is even remotely smart he/she would get placed. Placement is the only activity where the college administration gives a little bit of importance to its students. The major recruiters are Cognizant, Infosys and Wipro.

There was only one event which was celebrated majorly in the college and that was the annual college fest. And let me tell you it was a complete farce. Not a single celebrity in the four years of college. Students and administration alike were only concerned about pocketing money for themselves in lieu of different events. The fest would often want to make you throw up. The organisers would be only concerned about money.

The fee structure is very expensive and absolutely overpriced. They take a 82500 for tuition fee, another 15000 for placement and training and yet another 15000 named other fees and this other fees has to be paid in cash. And the entire transaction system was so flawed that the only way of paying was through challans which would result in long queues and taking up almost a day or two to get done with the process.

The college in itself does not provide any loan facilities and as I hadn't availed one I do not have much idea about it.

Campus life sucked big time majorly because of the absence of a hostel for 4 years because of which the circle of people one knew got very limited. There was no approval for any sports activities initially but after a lot of fight and struggle, things started to get a little better.

For boys there is hostel only for 1st year students and just like the college, the monument is a proof of how the college fails its students on every possible occasion. The food was equally terrible and if you are veggie like me then you would probably want to die. The caterers just like everybody else were equally adamant and arrogant. Very ill mannered.

The alumni network is non existent. As mentioned earlier the interaction was almost nil due to the absence of hostels. And the seniors and juniors alike were so worn out and frustrated with the way things were handled in the college that nobody ever even cared to get to know one another. The bridge which should have been there between students from different areas of interests, batches, branches, etc. was missing.

The exam structure is decided by the University i.e. BPUT. There used to be 2 internals which contributed to 30% marks and the rest was from the end semester exams. The college was very strict about cheating and a student relying on cheating will find it very difficult to clear the exam.

The faculty of my department were highly under qualified. They were in fact very arrogant an unfriendly around us. The management was troubling them and in return they used to take out our frustration on us. Majority of them boasted of a M.Tech degree but the catch was that the degree was from the same college they were a faculty of.
