Remarks

This college was passed on to me like a heritage. My father and my cousins are alumni of St. Xavier's and just looking at where they are right now was the biggest reason behind me opting for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty to student ratio is 1:55. I chose biotechnology because I am really interested in the field of oncology, Nanotechnology and medical biotechnology. The teachers over here are very well qualified and most of them have qualified NET. The exams occurred often and the difficulty level was moderate.

Class Size: 55Course Fees: INR 67000 per year

Placement Experience

There are various companies which come to our college for placements like ICICI, Wipro, Infosys, Google etc. The average package is quite low which is the reason why students usually don't opt for campus placement. I am going to persue masters after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study over here is pretty reasonable. Since I have taken biotechnology, my fees were the highest due to the cost of the equipment and lab work we have to do. Still, it's very less as compared to other colleges.

Campus Life

We have an annual fest called Xavotsav which happens during the month of February. Classrooms are very decent, nothing over the top. There are a variety of sports and clubs on campus like Rotaract, Abhivyakti, NCC etc.

Interview Experience

Since my admission happened during the time of Corona, instead of interviews and entrance exams, our admission was done on a merit basis. I got my name on the first list. But there were interviews for other courses like BBA etc.

Placement Experience:

Semester 4h students are eligible for campus placement. TCS , WIPRO ACCENTURE and too many companies are visited college and minimum 60 to 70% percent student get placed. 60 to 70% percent student get placed. If i get the jod from campus placement and self then i perscue job with higher education, if i doesn't get the campus placement then i prepare for central and NIT college entrance test .

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the beginning of my 11th and 12th standard I'm very fond of Physics and mathematics that's why I choose to persue honours in physics and also there are more opportunities and jobs after bsc in physics compared to other streams. In bokaro steel city college the faculty: student ratio is not that great(1 per 250 students) as it is managed by state government. The qualification of teachers is above average (Almost every teacher has a P.hd) but the quality of teaching is not that great. Teachers often miss there classes and there way of teaching is very boring. On usual exams are taken in a interval of 6 to 8 months. But due to covid situation the exams got very much delayed l mean upto 10 to 12months. If you can complete the syllabus just by having few glances of the topics and follow the previous year question its quite easy to pass the examination by securing good marks. But most of the students always fail (almost 50% every semester).

Remarks:

In reality, this college has more negative remarks than positive. Some good part is that it has some great teachers. Their best course is B.Com for which it is famous. They organise some sports tournament that is appreciable. Overall good college to complete your degree and make Foundation.

My memorable journey of St. Xavier's, College, Ranchi.

For my course, selection was done on the merit basis. Any student who has completed his high school with 90+ marks in English was eligible for this course. The application form, fees, and dates, everything is appropriately available on the college's website. Yes, if you belong to ST/SC you are given reservation and relaxation in the cutoff. Exans are held regularly in a proper manner. The difficulty level of the exams conducted are moderate to high. Admission process involves both online mad offline process and sometimes takes couple of days. It should be resolved and made easy as students come from far places....Read More
