Remarks

ABES Engineering College is good in the fields of sports extra curricular activities and infrastructure. Academics and placements are good but need improvement.

Entrance Preview

I took the UPSEE and my rank was somewhere around 15 k. The reason for opting this college was simply the fact that it was in the list of top 10 UPTU colleges and one of the best in NCR among private colleges in terms of placement percentage and infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There is constant improvement in the course structure with emphasis now being given on innovation and research. The syllabus has changed a lot since i joined college and through the 4 years of college. The electives are as per the UPTU syllabus so it does not depend on the college and is uniform across all UPTU colleges. The college though tries to include extra courses for innovation, specially in mobile technology.

Internships Opportunities

ABES does provide internship but I am not sure about the stipend because it started during my last days in college.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and job opportunities are countless in terms of the number of companies visiting the campus. However the packages offered are average. Packages range from 1.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Most of the companies visiting the campus offer in the range of 2.5 LPA - 3.5 LPA. Earlier the first company to visit the college for placements was TCS, now it is Tech Mahindra.

College Events

4.5

An annual fest is celebrated every year in the month of November and apart from it there are many separate events by students including tech fests and cultural events. Also the freshers party and farewell parties are organised apart from the alumni meet sports meet and many other events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and is different for each course, courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA. The fee structure is designed by the university and is uniform for all the colleges. I am not sure about the hostel fee as it keeps on increasing every other year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loans are available from the college but banks do provide education loans. There are several scholarships for toppers and students who perform exceptionally well.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is fair enough with more-or-less equal number of girls to boys. An annual fest is celebrated every year in the month of November and apart from it there are many separate events by students including tech fests and cultural events. Also the freshers party and farewell parties are organised apart from the alumni meet sports meet and many other events.

Hostel Facilities

4

I don't think the hostel food is up to the mark in any way but it is better than rest of the colleges in the region, that's what I have heard from students of various colleges. The sports facilities are very good with basketball courts, tennis courts, badminton arenas and an entire cricket field equipped with floodlights, net practice area, proper and well maintained pitch/turf and lush green outfield.

Alumni/Alumna

An alumni meet is organised every year with students able to interact with alumni and alumni able to meet their old friends and teachers.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted by the university and a center is allotted to each college which is a different college of the same university. The exam center being different from their own college makes it a bit difficult for students to travel and adjust to the environment initially, but over time it becomes a habit to go to the examination center every 6 months for the semester exams.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college are very cooperative and considerate. They are ready to help whenever a student is stuck at any point in college, be it academics or co-curricular activities. Specially the faculty of IT branch is very much involved with the students in whatever task they take up during their college days.

Placement Experience:

At PSIT, students are allowed for campus jobs from the 6th sem . Many top firms visit each year, such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra , HCL and Capgemini. Some product firms like ZS and Hashedin also hire from PSIT. The highest pay for CSE was around 30 lpa and the average pay stays near rupee 6 lpa . More than 90 percent of students get placed in good roles like software dev, data analyst or QA engineer. The college also runs training drives for coding , mock tests and soft skils growth. After my degree , I plan to go for Mtech at IIT Madras and then work in the tech field or research area.

The Training & Placement cell works for the placement of the students. Some of the companies visit for the on-campus placement. If you are good at studies and have good technical and soft skills will get the offer. The average package is not very handsome but you'll get a good amount. Generally, final year students are eligible for campus placements. You may apply for the off-campus opportunities and get a very good package. Many students also prepare for GATE and other government exams.
