What Students Say
Likes
- Job help here works well - mock interviews plus skill drills make landing work easier.
- I enjoy how everything's set up here. The library? Super helpful. Labs come with gear that actually, while the campus stays tidy.
- Most teachers have been around the block, so they get it.
Dislikes
- They are too strict about attendance and uniforms. it feels like school, which is annoying.
- The girls to boys ratio is poor, around 1:4. The campus lacks diversity and feels skewed.
- Campus life is dull due to strict rules. Also, the canteen food is average and repetitive.
Course Curriculum Overview
I picked this cousre because the syllabus is updated and helps with jobs. Itt prepares us well for placements but could use more practical labs.Exams are frequent and moderately hard, so you have to study regularly to score well. The student-faculty ratio is about 1:60. Senior teachers are very helpful and know thier subjects well. Exams are held frequently and are moderately difficult
Internships Opportunities
To be honest, paid internships right at college aren't that common. So most learners end up hunting for positions outside - often using LinkedIn or personal connections. Still, tech clubs occasionally run small team projects you can join; just know they rarely pay anything.
Fees and Financial Aid
The full cost for the 4th-year B.tech program comes around Rs5.5 to Rs.6 lakhs - hostel fees aren't included here. Good thing? Your class won't see any sudden jumps in tuition; what you start with stays fixed. --> Yearly costs : First year hits hardest - nearly Rs.1.70 Lakhs. That covers tuition (Rs.1.11 lakh), a repayable caution deposit (Rs.5,000), plus initial registration fees. Starting Year 2 , expenses go down - to roughly Rs.1.25 Lakhs annually. --> Counselling students go with the usual price tag. On the flip side, Management Quota folks shell out more cash.Meanwhile , those under Fee Waiver cough up way less - around Rs40k each year. --> A lot of folks get help through the UP State scholarship. it gives back Rs.50k-Rs.60k every year if your household earns under Rs.2 Lakhs. Only if you scored above 86% in 12th PCM subjects.
Campus Life
Campus life is decent here. The annual fest 'Genero' held in Feb is the main highlight. The library is well-stocked and quiet for studying. Classrooms are standard with projectors. I enjoy the sports facilities, and the technical clubs are very active and helpful.
Admission
I applied to AKGEC nad KIET as well. I chose this college becuase of its decent placement record and location advantage. I missed the CSE cutoff in other colleges. The admission was through UPTAC counseling based on my JEE Mains Rank. The process was smooth but documentation took time.
Faculty
The teacher-to-student balance sits at about one to sixty. Senior lecturers tend to be friendly and really know thier stuff, while some newer instructors lean heavily on slide decks instead. Honestly, the test timetable feels oacked. Each term includes two internal exams along witha Pre university test (PUT). These tests inside the college? Tough, yet they get you ready - pretty well - for finals at uni. Syllabus sticks to regular AKTU stuff, mostly book kmowlwdge.
Night Life
To be honest, the campus doesn't really have a night scene - hostel curfews hit early, usually by 10 PM. Instead of staying put, most students head to local cafes in RDC or Indirapuram when dusk rolls in. Roaming after dark off-campus? Not an option. Still, within the gates it's secure, so people chill together in shared spots.
