Remarks
This college was opened only for the sake of money. Student development is next to zero. College management does not care about the quality of education. My conclusion will be it's better not to join this college if one looks for a good college life. On the other hand if someone wants to save money for post graduation and can do self study or learn through online courses, then he/she may opt for this college.
Entrance Preview
Took the entrance exam CGPET and secured rank 603 with a score of 75. It was among the two best colleges for mechanical engineering(that's what I heard) and the only good colleges in Chhattisgarh.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure is awful, most of the important topics have been stripped off the course due to complexity and professors inability to teach them. Even there are only repeated questions in the exam and still they strip the marks deserved. Course structure is not at all based on research or even a little bit development of the student.
Internships Opportunities
No internships are provided, students have to find on their own. NOC is provided at the time of summer training's and students have to find them on their own.
Placement Experience
In mechanical branch, 5 students on an average are placed out of 120 annually. Highest package offered was 4.5 lpa by Adani Group. Not many companies recruiting for mechanical engineers visit here. For CSE/IT there is TCS which takes majority of the placed students every year but with a package of 1.5-3 lpa. Most of the students opt for higher studies or try for jobs through competitive exams.
College Events
Technical and cultural fests are carried out the whole winter. There are fests organised by each department one after the other giving a variety of events to participate in. Yearly once a mega techno cultural 3 day fest is organised i.e SAMVID. All these are managed by students itself. Sports tournaments are also organised at least twice every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible. It costs nearly Rs.36000 every semester for the academic fee and Rs.700 separately exam fee every semester. It is relatively low compared to other colleges in India. Scholarships are also given on the basis on merit and also category based.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a bank in campus to offer loan facility to students and scholarship is provided by the government on based of merit where academic fess is wavered.
Campus Life
Campus life is totally dependent on the friends circle as there is not much in the college. Gender ratio is good in branches other than Civil and Mechanical. There are competitions organised throughout the winter season with lots of extracurricular activities and sports tournaments. Students tolerance is pretty good and the student council elections take place every year.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are average. Two separate hostels, one for first year and another for 2,3,4 year students. In 1st year hostel, 4 students per room with attach bathroom and for remaining years, 3 students per room and common bath/toilet for the whole floor. WiFi facility is provided in the common room with a TV. For nearby PG's it costs almost Rs. 2000 per head with shared rooms and additional 2500-3000 for food per month. In this case students have to arrange for their transportation. Mess food is well below average and not healthy.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is not good, not many students look back after they pass out from here. Seniors on the other hand are very helpful and one can borrow notes and books from them easily.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is not bad given the environment and studies. 15 days preparation leave is given before end semester examinations. As for mid semester exams, total of 6 subjects are covered in 3 days, 2 exams per day. Labs are conducted after the end semester exams generally on alternate days.
Faculty
Only 4-5% faculty are truly interested in teaching and rest are just teaching for the sake of their job. Faculty is not highly qualified, most of them are BE pass outs from neighboring and even worse colleges. Teaching standards are very low and only exam oriented. Only 1 teacher till now was truly interested in imparting knowledge and went a bit beyond the course.
