Remarks

The college definitely could improve on a lot of parameters. Especially relaxation of rules as well as reducing the academic burden on students. However, for an organization of this size, it is difficult to manage. VIT is definitely among the best private engineering colleges in the country.

Entrance Preview

I did not clear the IIT JEE or BITSAT. Got an OK rank in AIEEE but not enough to take a course of choice. VIT I scored well and was able to take an engineering branch with electronics.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum like any college in India still lags behind in its content. There are courses that need more updates. That being said, VIT offers great infrastructure and facilities to pursue your own interests. The labs are excellent so is the academic infrastructure.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does not provide internships to all students. Some companies do visit campus to offer internships to a handful of students. Honeywell, NI has in the past come to the campus to pick up interns and offer industry-standard stipends. Companies like Microsoft, PayPal also visit the campus but primarily for CS and IT.

Placement Experience

4

Placements in CS and IT are excellent. Core branches like Mech, Electronics, Civil, etc also see decent placements. Like any college, placements are affected by the general economic climate but VIT does have an excellent record with placements. The mass recruitment companies visit the campus every year and students with decent academic records can definitely expect an offer.

College Events

4.5

The events are primarily: Riviera - Cultural Fest, Gravitas - Technical Fest. These two festivals are huge and attract thousands of people from around. Riviera spans over 4 days and Gravitas over 3. Riviera even sees Bollywood, Tamil, and Telugu stars come and perform over the pro-shows which is a huge hit every year. Along with these, there are a plethora of fests, conferences held throughout the year by the different departments like Civil, Mechanical, Business school, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is slightly on the expensive side. Especially the hostel and mess fee. However, the quality of infrastructure is one of the best in the country and VIT is constantly upgrading its labs. The campus is immaculately maintained and is very green. It definitely is a bit crowded because of the sheer number of students but this makes for a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has a tie-up with Indian Bank for education loans available to students at attractive interest rates. Also, the college provides monetary scholarships to students who score above a certain rank in the VITEEE entrance exam.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life: Loads of opportunities and activities. You'll definitely find something that interests you. Gender Ratio: Much better than an average engineering college. Hovers around 30:70 (women to men), Diversity: Extremely diverse. We have a sizeable number of international students as well from Africa, China, and Southeast Asian countries that come for a few semesters. You'll find students from across India and it's a great way to meet new people and expand your horizons. Extra-curricular: We have excellent debating teams, a huge Toastmasters chapter, Film societies, Dance clubs, electronics clubs, some insane Formula Student teams, and on and on. You'll always find something that interests you.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels have the following rooms: Single Bed (AC and Non AC), Double Bed (AC and Non AC), Four Bed (AC and Non AC), Six Bed (AC and Non AC) There are common washrooms. The general upkeep of the hostels is good. It is mandatory to stay in the hostels in the first year. The men are allowed to stay outside after the first year but generally, most of the students continue to stay inside. The hostel food is definitely better than most colleges. There are options for North Indian and South Indian mess (both Veg and non-veg).

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not as strong as other colleges. But the general involvement and outreach of alumni have increased in the past few years. Alumni if you reach out to them will be very helpful. The entire environment at VIT is generally one of co-operation among students. You'll make some great lifelong friendships and memories.

Exam Structure

The days are average in their level of engagement. You will have hectic days as well as chilled out ones. You will have ample time to pursue co-curricular activities (Which there are a ton of). VIT is experimental with the course structure and keeps trying out new systems to promote better learning. It might be a bit troublesome at times but the aim is to make learning more engaging.

Faculty

3

The faculty at the college vary. Some faculties are excellent while others may not be the most ambivalent. The important part is figuring out your area of interest and continuing to work on it diligently. Faculties generally encourage you to submit research papers.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
