Remarks

After is passed 12th class examination i registered on JKBOPEE website for JKCET examination in 2017 ending and in starting 2018 the conducting body released admit cards and after a month the entrance exam was conducted. After conducting the entrance exam they released provisional merit list and started councelling process.in the councelling process i got SSM college with the Mechanical branch. There are various factors and reasons that made me choose the college and the main factors include: Location:-location of this college is in Jammu and Kashmir and i am myself from the same state. Availability:-i included this factor because this was the only college in kashmir i could have availed with the score that i made in the entrance exam.there were a lot of seats left in engineering colleges in jammu and i could have choosen among them but my priority was location. The other factors include Facilities (hostel and transport, library) Faculty:- Faculty in this college is also very good and talented and are student friendly. There are a lot of sorrounding facilities like shops, cafe, booksellers, etc. Reputation of this college is also very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have choosen the course as i think the course is good enough for my future.and i can go for higher studies with the course and that could be very beneficial for me. There is good and tallented faculty in the college and every member is well qualified.all members in the faculty are PG qualified like "mtech",Phd. The term exams in the college are half yearly.there are internal and external exams held per semester. The internal exams are conducted by the college and the external exams are conducted by University of kashmir as the college is affiliated with the university of Kashmir. The internal exams are easy to pass and external exams a bit difficult to pass as the questions in external exams are a bit tricky.

Internships Opportunities

I have done an internship at MED pampore.

Placement Experience

2

After completing 7th semester students become eligible for placements for the companies visiting the college. Companise that visit and hire students for jobs are TATA power,TECKNSS,RECPDCL ETC. ABOUT 20% of the students get placed to the companies visiting the college.

College Events

4.5

Life in the campus is much appreciable as students are exposed to a lot of extracurricular activities like sports, trips etc. Every year trips are organised to places like Gulmarg, pahalgam etc and students love to visit these places. Annual fests are also being organised every year and a lot of guests are being invited to the fests.students also take part in these fests. All these activities are organised by Dean student welfare committee of SSM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a lot of facilities available in the campus. Students from the college opt for the sports activities.every year sports events are conducted in the college by dean student welfare committee. There is a good library present in the college called as Central library.almost every student from different branches and batches get books from the library and every student is satisfied with the availability of that library. Labs are also present in the college.students are taken to the labs by the faculty in order to clear concepts related to the respective subjects and topics.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Infrastructure of hostel is above average but the food facility inside the hostel is not so good. The registration process for the hostel is very simple.one needs an id proof and photos and a visit to the hostel office to register. The hos facility is much affordable as you have to pay just Rs 2700 per month.

Admission

The admission criteria to the college is entrance based and for that particular entrance exam one should have completed class 12th exam from recognised board. The entrance exam for getting admission is JKCET and the entrance exam is conducted by Jammu and Kashmir board of professional entrance exam (JKBOPEE).I got admission to the college after appearing in JKCET in the year 2018 and my score was 26.75.

Placements aren't that good and for Zoology it's like the research roles in labs and under research professors so mostly a salary of 30-50k is what students of Zooly gets at our college and even DU stidnets get the same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course work for PhD programmes is very relevant and maliable. You can pick and choose your own individual challenges and subjects. There are no restrictions on the freedom of choice. However, you might have to enroll in a few Swayam course for the completion of your course work. The course work also does not prepare you for any real world applications or even your PhD really. Course work can be heavily improved by a new hands-on pedagogy which may induce ideas instead of deducing them from various books and sources. The frequency of exams is once per coursework.
