Remarks
I scored 100 in my JEE Mains and was certain that neither I'll be able to clear the advanced paper nor get any good NIIT. So I decided to take admission to a private college. Narrowed down to a few of them and the reason I chose JIIT is because of the following: 1. One of the best colleges I was getting through JEE Mains. 2. It's a prime location. 3. Placement is actually decent. 4. The fees seemed reasonable.
Course Curriculum Overview
Was interested in computer science engineering but as the cut-off for that was a bit high, I got information technology (both are quite similar). You won't be getting the best teachers out there. But some of them are great. I don't think the faculty of JIIT is good. As I said some of them are pretty professional and great teachers who have immense knowledge about what they are teaching and how they are teaching but the rest of them are just doing their jobs because they have to. Extremely arrogant, biased, and know nothing. There are three tests in one semester including quizzes, surprise tests, assignments, and whatnot. But I guess that's the case with every college, so can't complain.
Placement Experience
People are eligible for the placement from the 6th semester itself. Many (many means alot) of companies visit JIIT. Avg package is 5-6 lacs for CS students and not sure about the Electronic and communication branch. The highest package doesn't matter in my opinion but it's around 40 lacs I guess. The percentage of students getting a job is quite high which is 95% may be provided that you have maintained a reasonable CGPA. I am planning to get a decent job after getting my degree in hand.
Fees and Financial Aid
At my time fees seemed pretty decent to me. But they are hiking up the fees every year way too much. This is totally unjustified. I guess there is a scholarship program for people having weak finances and some concession is also provided to the family members of people working in Jaypee.
Campus Life
The annual fest name is Impressions and multiple tech fests also take place which is not that great but okayish. Classrooms are well ventilated, clean but the structure is quite old and they really need to renovate it. Extracurricular activities are just above zero I would say. There is a small playground, which is good for nothing. You may find numerous clubs for different activities in jiit which are run by students itself. Some of them are good and one should participate actively in them, the rest of them are running just for the sake of it.
