This college has shown positive growth in terms of exposure and student- teacher interaction as well. Even though I’m a student of NIT Hamirpur, my opinion is devoid of such biases. Thus, according to me, NIT Hamirpur is a better choice for your CSE program.

Getting CSE at Thapar University as well as Jaypee Noida (JIIT) , which college should I choose?

Had you asked this question 4-5 years ago, the common answer would have been Thapar University. However, things have changed a lot in the last few years. Here are some reasons why I would suggest you to go for JIIT Noida for your B.Tech CSE- The crowd quality at Thapar University has gone down drastically. The reasons behind this are a 50% quota for Punjab students and the enormous increase in the number of seats. Both these actions have resulted in very low cut offs. The cutoff rank for Punjab students in JEE Mains is 1.5 Lakh+ for CSE department. The closing rank of JIIT Noida for the same is around 51 K+. Thus, the crowd is better in JIIT Noida as compared to Thapar. The batch size at Thapar University is much bigger than JIIT N. Thapar University has a batch size of 1200+ students for Computers while JIIT Noida has a batch size of only 250+ students. A smaller batch size means more placement opportunities and better attention towards the learning of each student. Location-wise, NCR offers more opportunities than Patiala. You will get numerous opportunities in NCR like trade shows, conferences, training, better placements, etc. Gurgaon and Noida are the new IT Hubs, second only to Bangalore and at par with Hyderabad and Pune. As a CSE student, you should prefer Noida over Patiala. Though Thapar University has a bigger campus of 250 acres, your life will mostly revolve around your classrooms, nearby areas and your hostel. Thus, the smaller campus of JIIT N should not be that big an obstacle. The average package for B.Tech CSE is around INR 13.28 LPA at JIIT Noida, which is better than Thapar University in which the average package for the UG stream stands at around INR 10.97 LPA. JIIT Noida can make one race away!

JIIT Noida is indeed an expensive university and I stayed at sector 62 campus which is the bigger campus out of the two. I have seen life to my campus and that's not all as my campus has provided more life than it can and for that it has charged me with close to 3 lakhs for studies and over 2.2 lakhs for providing residence.

JIIT Noida has the best infrastructure!

JIIT Noida has two campus and the main one is the one in which I study. The cost of education here is 3 lakhs a year and this I feel is moderate to high as this can't be called low or affordable. However, since it's a private university fullmof supreme facilities the fees is supposed to be supreme and that is what JIIT asks for.

JIIT Noida is brilliant!

JIIT Noida Sector 62 is an equivalent university to many and smart university is what JIIT is. Our university is fees is around 1.5 lakhs a semester. Hostel fees is 1.1 lakhs a year and it's a well watched and well placed university. Fees can scramble many but as a option at this price JIIT Noida is worth it.

JIIT Noida is Nonchalant!

JIIT Noida Sector 62 is best private university and fees is thus high too. To study in the best university one has to pay the best fees. Our fees is wide as it is 1.45 lakhs per semester and I still feel it's competitive. Our hostels though I feel are a tad bit expensive as that cost me or for that matter all around 80-1.2 lakhs per semester.

JIIT Noida is a quality university!

JIIT Noida is a top university and has multiple branches as well. I am in JIIT Noida Sector 22 branch. The fees is 1.45 lakhs a semester and also hostel fees is around 100k per semester. Boys and girls hostels fees are same. Only the reserved category students gets some scholarship on college fees but hostel fees remains the same for all.

Jaypee is good enough when compared to other private colleges.

The yearly fees is around 3.5 lakhs excluding hostel which is of 1 lakh per semester. The caution deposit was 20,000 and admission fees was 75,000. All the fees are included in development fees which is around 40,000 per semester. You can check JIIT official website for recent fee structure for every course. There are various scholarship available- girl child, william webster merit cum need, and even aicte tuition fee waiver but everything is merit based.

JIIT can make any college Jealous!!

Likes

Nearly 20 odd workshops have been included in our course and it will be around 30 by the time I finish.
Academics wise our college rocks as it has one of the best courses.

Dislikes

The fees of hostel keeps increasing every year and this shouldn't have happened.

JIIT Noida is a marvel made by Jaypee group. Our college is better equipped and build than highways that Jaypee group has built and the fees is still only 3 lakhs a year. Scholarships mostly on merit as caste based scholarships are quite slim here.

the curriculum is well structured especially for cse branch most faculty members are knowledegable and well ualified often with phds

high fees with the limited scolarship roi is not that much good

our college fees is 3 lakh aproxx per year and it does increase by 10-15%yearly excluding the hostel if u take the hostel the hostell fees is 2 lakh per year . and also our college provide some scolarship like william webster and particular state scolarship as well.
