Remarks
I would say OK,Management knows how to mint money and I believe its not the system but people in the system who make it look either good or bad to the world, So my overall experience was OK, not great or bad.
Entrance Preview
COMEDK 59. With this score this college was offering ECE branch and then after all the studies are to be eventually done by the students, so college at that time didn't matter. Hence,I thought that I could continue my education with this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electronics and communication Engineering is a very vast branch and the university to which the college was affiliated was VTU. As we all know VTU has its own syllabus and there could be no changes in that. So I would rather say that the course structure was designed NOT by the college but by the university itself.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college didn't organize any internship program at all which was the ask from many students. They however arranged workshops , which the students were asked to pay for and since the college fee was high enough no one turned up for that and it was a flop.
Placement Experience
It is average. Not good or bad. The students are trained however before placements by the third party training agencies to be able to crack the interviews. However, the training was basic not at all subject related. So in short they would train your brain to solve puzzle and math's aptitude questions but not the subject knowledge or topics which could be hot in the industry,
College Events
1. Fests- This used to be arranged every year and with a lot of events like Tech Quiz, Robo Camp, Mehendi Design, Rangoli Design, Antakshri, Treasure Hunt etc. 2. Workshop - In workshop third party firms used to come and deliver training based on required topics.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive, is the word I would like to use. If a student is paying 1,25,000 per year and has to study the subjects own their own, it doesn't sound fair. While that is the fee decided by ComedK it sounds really unfair s the quality of education or training is not worth the money.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, there are none available. In my entire time with this college I heard from none about the same as well.
Campus Life
It used to be arranged by the students as an activity during fests. Campus life was quite ok, there should be anti-ragging committee though in the campus to help all the new joiners. Which was a challenge. As an student if you join a new college you would try hard to focus on the required at that time I don't think that the students should be given a chance to focus on the thoughts of being ragged again next time.
Hostel Facilities
So, I stayed in the hostel for about 2 years. The girls hostel sucks, hygiene in the washrooms are not at all maintained, the rooms cleaning ladies would come to the hostel and stay there for the entire day but they won't clean the rooms. the flooring in the room I stayed in was cement flooring and it used to always dirty . When it comes to food, in the first 2 months the food was good, and then the contract was given to someone else and it sucked since then.
Alumni/Alumna
LOL, there is no Alumni Network at all, It sounds so cool to have one though but like I said KNSIT was an average college and it didn't give a damn to have anything as such. It would have been great if something of that sort would have been available, and if we could have got guidance form people who actually passed form the same college are in the market right now, also I would have loved to go back to my college sometime and talk to those guys who are still studying and could have given them inputs on what runs in the market and what is important from Exam point of view but not from market perspective. I guess the college should start thinking about these now.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was framed by the university itself. So we had internal exam and externals as well. The way it was handled in the college was there were no practice tests apart from the structure (Necessary to clear the Semester exam). If those would have been there THEN STUDENTS WOULD NOT HAVE TO STRESS ON their own during the exams,
Faculty
The college faculty for the branch I opted for were Good, I would not say best, or poor. There were many subjects throughout the course and the faculty either remained same or kept changing. A couple of faculty members were very well versed in the subjects while others were not that great. Special mention of two faculty members - Kashif Ahmed - EE and Civil - Mr. Rao. was very well handled I didn't have to even refer text books for those subjects during examination and I could score more than 80% in both.
