Remarks
JIIT is a deemed university offering good placements and the location being NCR was also a plus point. The admission process involved JEE mains rank and it was the best option for me according to my rank as it has good infrastructure, good interaction among students and teachers and highest package offered is 47 lacs by adobe and other good companies including Deloitte, Infosys, Wipro, etc offering placement to almost everyone with the average package offered 7 lacs. The other colleges for which I was eligible had slightly less placement opportunities and location was also not preferred by me. I researched for reviews on Collegedunia and Shiksha.
Course Curriculum Overview
As everything is going online and computers are the present and future of the nation so I always wanted to study information technology. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:28 which is quite good as teachers pay attention to every student. The qualifications of most of the teachers are PhD or masters from deemed universities. Although the teachers are not very considerate of students and just stick to their methods of teaching and all the students are expected to learn in the same way without giving proper support to relatively weak students. We have exams 3 times in a semester making it somewhat difficult to keep up with the course. But it was not very difficult to pass but to maintain a good cgpa, you have to study much more as compared to other colleges.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are not much but some great companies like Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs come for offering internships but only around 50 students get on-campus internships. Most of the companies offer internships for product management with the stipend being 1 lac per month.
Placement Experience
The placements are good as most of the students maintaining a decent cgpa are offered placement. The campus placements begin from 4th year and go on till the end of your degree. The companies coming to JIIT include Adobe, Infosys, Wipro, etc which are quite good in a technical field. The highest package offered was 47 lacs by adobe and average package was 7lacs per annum. Around 85% of students from computer science and information technology branch are placed till the end of the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are quite reasonable according to private universities in India as 2.2 lacs per annum with hostel feels being 1.2 lacs per annum is relatively fine than other private engineering colleges but they don't provide any scholarship of financial aid to students.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good. There are so many technical and non-technical fests organised round the year. The annual fest is called impressions which is grand and involves many technical and non-technical activities which are held usually in March. There are so many clubs for students like theatre, dance, robotics and many more and they are active throughout the year making it not just a boring academic college but such fun to be a part of. There are cricket, basketball, and football teams but not much ground space to play making it somewhat difficult to play. The library is amazing and you can find almost all the books related to your course or for extra knowledge. The classrooms are also good with air-conditioning and wifi available all the time.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are centrally air-conditioned and shared bathrooms for a corridor and 2 people share a room without any option for individual rooms. There are 3 meals provided- breakfast, lunch, dinner which are quite good and the menu is also changed to every week and also provide with fruits and desserts. The registration process for hostels is very simple, you just have to apply for it stating your hometown and most of the students are offered hostel seats. In my opinion, the hostels are quite affordable as the price is 1.2 lacs for one year and it includes mess, wifi and laundry charges. Also, there are pools for hostel students that are separate for boys and girls.
