Remarks

I will say that after NIT Jalandhar, it is the best engineering college of Jalandhar. The academics are good and strict. Companies prefer our college students due it's clean image recorded so far

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE exam i scored less than 100 so i had to choice other than this college as the faculty an strictness of this college is the best. If you will not perform well in the MST's then straightaway they will send a fail to PTU. Attendance is also a very important factor as you are rquired at least 75% attendance

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is strictly based on PTU syllabus with a thorough cover of whole syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

A number of companies like IBM, infosys , mahindra & Mahindra , Wipro , Parxel technologies. they offered very low during internship between 5k-15k per month students wasted time in some companies as they did not taught anything new but were just keen to fulfill their job as they were passing their workload to students.

Placement Experience

3.5

Nearly 60-70% of the graduates were placed out of which 10-20% graduates got handsome package. wipro took about 110 students with a package of 3.6 lakhs per annum which is obviously very low. IBM gave 5 lakhs per annum. mostly companies give package between 1-3.6 lakhs per annum

College Events

2

Youth festival ,Techno fest, Robotics are the events celebrated. The college emphasizes more on studies than these activities. Moreover the college is very small and it is a bit difficult to organize such big functions. PTU youth festival is the main event where all students of ptu came to our college

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is very feasible .It costs around rs1 lakhs per annum if you are a day scholar, PTU also has the fee-waiver option in which the fees becomes approximately rs 20,000 per annum provided your income is less than 4.5 lakhs per annum and you qualify aieee with good marks.the hostel costs further around again rs 1 lakhs per annum with slight variation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Guru harikrishan society offers rs 500 per month to all categories student who have their income less than 2 lakhs per annum . number of scholarships are available for sc/st/obc and minority students. The scholarships offered to General categories students are very less.

Campus Life

3

As i said the college focuses more on studies rather than extracurricular activities. but sports competitions are very frequent and are very often conducted. There are no girls in mechanical department and 2 girls in civil department , otherwise mostly 60:40 boy to girl ratio is seen. google workshops and robotics are very frequent. 70-80% are hindus. Rest are sikhs and sc. ABVP students always win in student elections. Economic status is good with all basic amenities in college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is divided into two part UG (Under Graduate) and PG (Post Graduate). the PG hostel is better and expensive than UG hostels. If there is seat vacant in PG hostel than they can accommodate you there even if you are under graduate. The food is top

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors advised us two two most important things. One is to perform very well in MST's AND the second is that maintain a good relation with teachers. otherwise they will send low internal to PTU. They said that give equal importance to all subjects and pass out exams with more than 75-80% which will help you in coming jobs.

Exam Structure

The exams are very periodic and attendance is must in MST's. the question paper is designed generally tougher than the final PTU exams so that students do not face difficulty writing their final examinations. The labs were also scheduled frequently and th

Faculty

3.5

Mostly faculties are experienced but there are some faculties which do are certainly not capable of their designation. Faculties clear doubt anytime even during telephonic conversation.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
