Course Curriculum Overview
The B.Com curriculum is relevant and covers core subjects like financial accounting, business, economics, taxation law, cost accountind and management which influenced my decision to choose this course. the syllabus provide a strong base that prepares students for MBA or M.Com. The only impovement i need to see is more digitalization of works such as assignments and all. exams are conducted on semester basis and the difficulty level is moderate. The overall curriculum is well structured but adding more skill based subjects can improve it.
Placement Experience
In btech form the 8th semester students become eligible for campus placements. the highest placement is for 70,00,000 Lpa in btech. students of MBA also hold chances for placements. The placements are not in big 4 but still in genuine and great companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for the bcom hons course is reasonable and affordable. The course duration is 3 years [3 semesters]. The fee is charged on a semseter basis. for each odd semester , the tuition fee is Rs 24,000 while for each even semester is Rs 28400 . this makes the yearly fee approximately Rs55000 including other extra charges. Over the complete duration of the course, the total charges come aroun Rs 1,60,000. In addition to this one time registration fee at the time of admission was Rs 10,000. Other mandatory fees such a developmental fees, library fees, and lab/computer fees are included with the semester fee structure, and there are no hidden charges. The overall fee has shown a slight increase over the years but it is not too much and is manageable to afford. yes, for the reserved categories [sc/st] there are scholarships like Dr. BR Ambedkar Scholarship. fee relaxation and government scholarships are available. fee for btech even semester is Rs 44,800
Campus Life
I have not enjoyed any fests in this college because the fun factor is really low. It is there but very less as compared to other colleges and universities. The last tech fest happened a year ago which was a great success and people really enjoyed it I heard and saw it on the instagram stories as I was not a part of this college back then. technical facilities are nice and proper. A nice range of books for evry course is available in the library. There is a huge sports ground too.
Admission
I honestly did'nt applied to many colleges because I was a bit confuesd. I mainly chose this college because of its localty and decent reputation in Jalandhar. The admisiion process is really simple here, without any unnecesarry delays. I received confirmation from this college on time. the eligibility is 60% marks in 12th there are no high cutoffs or expensive fees.
Faculty
faculty to student ratio is 1:30 The faculty members in the college are well qualified and supportive. Most of the professors have strong subject knowledge and explain concepts clearly. They are approachable outside the class too. There are two assignments of each subject oer semester. Isha Sehgal mam is clearly the best example for good faculty as she is really invested in explaining concepts well. there are 2 mid semester tests per semester and 1 final end sem. theory exam is for 60 marks and 40 marks are for internal assessment
Night Life
I havent experienced the night life of the campus because I am a day scholar. But the reviews for the hostels are also good and there is cafeteria, a nice place to have a walk, a tuck shop for emergency things. BUt there are not much things to talk about on the night life of the college there are no fun late night activities or good place to hangout.
