Remarks

Gujarat National Law University is a premier law school. It boasts a huge campus with an amazing library. The admission process is through an entrance test called CLAT then followed by document verification and orientation if you get a good enough rank to join. I preferred this university because of its reputation and mooting culture. They highly encourage students to moot and increase their skills. You can look up their website. The food in Gujarat might not be for everyone but they have an amazing catering service that makes sures all tastes are satisfied from breakfast to dinner.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is 5 years integrated LLB so you will be doing 2 courses at once essentially and it's a demanding course so be sure before you join law school. They have classes from 9 to 1 with breaks in between.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, every year you have an internship and the recommendation letter goes through the university itself. You can choose a list of NGOs or firms you are interested in, in whichever city you wanna might work in and it's fruitful.

Placement Experience

From your 4th year. All major law firms visit to take placements. Packages go really high depends on if you have the skills to earn a high paying job. There are various options other than getting placed as well such as higher education or litigation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is basically you have to pay for each year using DD so basically you pay around 2,00,000 for 2 semesters including everything. The hostel life is alright and I would say its worth it.

Campus Life

There are a lot of fests from food fests to cultural celebrations. Specific university fests as well from sports to all holidays. Gujarati holidays are celebrated of course and its amazing. The atmosphere and environment are amazing during the fests and the food as well so go easy.

Hostel Facilities

You have to share a room with another student in your semester or a senior and there are common bathrooms that are always clean and good showers. The meals here are good and cater to every taste. There aren't any PG or apartments in the knowledge corridor and it doesn't make sense as well because the hostel is compulsory for all students.

Our campus placements start from 4th year and like by the end of 5th year, most students are placed. Many corporate firms and with Gift City setting up most jobs were offered in the GIFT CITY. Even almost all the top law firms also have their branches in Ahmedabad and so that is where placements are done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the major reasons why I chose this course was that this was very unique , bsc in data science along with LLB is very new in the market, although it has it's own drawbacks, in the real world, there is not much demand for technocrat lawyers right now but with time this will increase. The major improvement would be the inclusion of other fields of law like IP, arbitration etc. There are three components for exams, one is mid sems which is held in the starting two months of the semester and after two months is the end sems. The semester are pretty short which is why we get time for internships and which provides us very nice exposure for real-world.

After 4th year, students are eligible to sit for placements. Some students also receive a pre-placement offer in the 4th year itself. The students are first prepared for day zero, i.e., placement day, beforehand by conducting a mock interview, which is a voluntary session conducted by the placement committee. CV Vetting workshops are also conducted in the eighth semester because at the end of the 8th semester, the placements are made where tier-1 companies like Khaitan, AZB Partners, CAM, SAM, Trilegal, etc. In-house firms like Adani, ICICI Bank, Tata, and more come for recruiting students. Some students sit for placement; others who want to prepare for government exams like judiciary, UPSC, Public Prosecutor, etc. refrain from sitting in placements.

In a law firm, there are no placements you have to get knowledge and then you can go to practice under any lawyer whichever you want and then you can do an internship in under of that lawyer. I applied to various colleges like NIRMA, Bhariya Vidyapeeth College, where I got confirmed admission, and NLSIU in the NRI quota but was not accepted. Then, I was selected in GNLU, and I chose it because it is a premier law university that provides one with sports, academics, internships, and all sorts of opportunities. The students also get an opportunity to intern under a professor of their liking, help them is writing their research paper, and are given monthly stipends. GNLU is a member of the CLAT consortium, where one can only get admission through getting a good eligible rank in CLAT or through sports or NRI quota. The overall admission experience is quite smooth. If the student gets selected, they will be provided an opportunity for counseling. After passing it, the student will be required to make a payment to reserve their seat, and after completion of the counseling, the seats are declared, and streams are alloted to the students as per their preference....Read More

GNLU secures future

I just gave Clat and with a rank of 453, the best college u could get was GNLU, NALSAR and NLSIU are for top 300 studnets. So, probably the best college I have been a part of.
