My college experience

Apart from the remote location of the college, the college is exemplar for its scholastic and placements.

I appeared JEE MAIN exam for engineering entrance and opted for this institution because it is one of the recognized institutions for education in Odisha and has a good name for computer science and engineering.

The course curriculum is precise and detailed so that we may absorb the most out of what we study. As far as research is concerned, we may study till the depth of a particular subject but it has nothing to do with the curriculum. Research is purely interest based.

No our college does not provide internship and hence there is no particular stipend for BE students.

Placement has always been alluring in colleges the companies that have come to our college is TCS, Wipro, Brainsoft, vedanta group, Jindal group. they nearly offer 3.6- 4 lacs ctc at an average while the figures change every year when they come for recruitment.

The college organizes welcome to the freshers at the beginning of the academic year, then branch wise fresher's welcome is organized. we have a techno cultural fest during the month of February and an literary fest during the same month. we also have our annual sports meet and an annual function.

Fee structure is feasible non ssc branches- 37,800 per year, ssc branches - 78, 500 per year ssc branches include computer science engineering and electronics and telecommunication engineering whereas non ssc includes mechanical, civil, electrical, production, metallurgical and materials engg, chemical engg.

There always has been help to those who have been in need of scholarships, be it for financial help or the scholarships for meritorious students the scholarships are pragati scholarship( for girls), prerna scholarship, medhabruti scholarship.

Campus life in IGIT is fun. Since the college is located in a remote location, we relish more of authentic food rather than all the junk evenings are breezy and with friends, they become more enjoyable we have small food joints at the college square and enjoy the natural beauty of the environment over here.

The hostel facilities have been good since we have been residing here. The mess food is good as compared to many other colleges in the state we have 5 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels per semester fees at an average for all hostels is 14000 which is quite cheap since it is a government sponsored college.

The alumnus of the college have always been supportive in every field we've required their help in, be it academics, sponsorship, etc.

The exam structure is precise and to the point and is approachable to the students. The labs are hectic and regular classes top it up. plus the assignments and projects leave us tired after the entire day. exams have always been stressful but since it is scheduled to be conducted so it has to be conducted at the certain time of the month.

After appearing JEE MAIN entrance, a month later, the odisha JEE forms were available online in which we had to fill our secured marks along with the marks scored in 12th board. We had filled our choicable colleges along with the interested branch and then a state rank list was declared based on the marks scored and then we were alloted a seat from the choices from the list locked by us.

The faculty of the college is celebrate of the college. Our college has one of the best faculty from all over the state who are lead by our dynamic Dean Academics who has an exceptional list educational qualifications. All the head of the departments lead their respective departments well enough to bring out the best from the students.
