Remarks

College is average, faculty is not that good students were forced to visit external classes. Management also don't looks like ambitious, they hike fee but facilities and quality remain same.

Entrance Preview

At that time additions where based on higher secondary score, particulaly score of Physics Chemistry and Maths. I got 69% in PCM. Choosed this college as it was grade B at that time, based on my score I was eligible for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure was very primitive, academic was theoretical and had no relation to applicability in the present scenario. Few subjects and topics were useful and in context to present times. Subjects such as machinrs, facts, power engineering, power electronics are found useful in my present role and work environment, others were basic and not used so far.

Internships Opportunities

Our college at that time didn't provide internship as it was not part of our curriculum, present situation may be different.

Placement Experience

3

At that time many software companies held campus interview s, however core companies didn't turn up. I got selected through off campus but the same was facilitated by our placement cell. Present scenario may differ as college has moved on ranking has improved and we as alumnus has proved to companies that our college is worth visiting and recruiting.

College Events

2

We had welcoming part called as freshers night, organised by our seniors. It was kind of soft ragging day where in seniors and juniors introduce each other. Later after 1st semester and every year in January February period we had tech fest and then our final annual day called rhythms festivals were happening and had fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was expensive at that time keeping in view the infrastructure, quality of labs, quality of teaching, library, sports facility etc. Things have changed over a period, but I still find it very expensive compared to the payback as placement options and salary offered are very scares.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships I have not idea, loan definitely not meritorious students use to apply for scholarship program of various business houses, with very less or nill support from college end on this part.

Campus Life

2

Campus life was boring throughout the year barring the festival season as such there was no campus it was an under construction building with few class rooms sex ratio in core field was skewed but IT, Computers & Electronics had good sex ratio. As such never experienced racial, gender inequality (even though female had leverages).

Alumni/Alumna

I had very good experience with seniors, many of them had plans for future studies overseas never met any alumni in my college days however at present our college is organizing alumni meet once a year. Networking is through Facebook and other social media networks. Invite is also sent over emails and text messages.

Exam Structure

We had 8 semesters, first 2 semesters managed by university directly. Hall tickets, examination centers, schedule etc was decided by university rest 3rd to 6th semesters managed by college 3rd semester onwards we had orals, practicals and written examination 7th and 8th semesters managed by university, examination held in college itself.

Admission

Admissions where centralized through VJTI, based on my score I got allotment in free seat category for construction engineering in KNSP PEN since the location was far off I cancelled the admission and went for readmission in 5th round which was held in Sardar Vallabhai Patel college of engineering, here I got option of electrical engineering in acpatil.

Faculty

2.5

Some faculties were qualified, good in communication, pleasant and approachable. However many faculties were not good in communication, just passed out student, very still and were not apprachable. HDO and seniors staffs were terror figure we rarely approached them.

Placement Experience:

You become eligible in your last year i.e the 4th year of college. Our college has a placement cell. This cell works like a connection between the students and the industry. Pre-placement and placement work is arranged for eligible students. So far the students have gotten placements in companies like Infosys, Whirpool, Autoline, Mudra Communications, Onio Design, Leaf Design, Book My Show, Buzzfactory, Deloitte, Vaachie Apparels, Tommy Hilfiger, Craft UX, etc. I am not quite sure as to what direction I want to go in. I am sure after my 2nd year is done, I will have more clarity about it. Mostly I would love to do Art Direction or Visual Merchandising and work for a fashion magazine.

I gave SET exam as an entrance. Symbiosis was the only design college I could opt for since all other college application deadlines were past. I decided very late that i wanted to get into design and not engineering or medicine. I don't remember my exact score but I topped the personal interview as well as the studio round.
