Remarks
The teachers here are experienced and are very friendly.
Entrance Preview
I gave CET and JEE Mains. I scored 131 in CET and 116 in JEE Mains. I opted for this college because of it's infrastructure, decent reputation and experienced faculty.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is based on Mumbai University's rules hence not that great. However teachers try their best to share extra knowledge focusing on the real life applications on what we learn. Can't say much about research yet since I am in first year and not currently exposed to the core of engineering.
Internships Opportunities
The college definitely encourages internships. There are various students doing their internships in BARC and various other organizations. No idea about the stipend since I am currently a fresher here.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent - The highest being 35 LPA offered by Works applications and the average being 3.5-4 LPA. The regular companies visiting are TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Barclays, Works etc. Around 90-95% get placed each year but many opt out to pursue higher studies.
College Events
The techfest FERVOR is quite decent. The Cultural Festival - VERVE is spectacular with celebrities gracing it. There also is a Sports Fest which includes sports like football, cricket, volleyball, carrom, chess, table tennis etc. The highlight of the sports festival is the S6 (Six a side - Six overs) cricket tournament in which more than 15 colleges participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for General Category students is 1.27 lakh per year which is somewhat expensive as compared to other colleges. But looking at the infrastructure and the facilities, it can be overlooked. There are Tuition Fee Waiver Schemes(TFWS) for students with poor economical backgrounds.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Scholarships are awarded to those who top the University exams and also to the students with a not so sound economical background.
Campus Life
The campus looks like a mall and is a fun place to hangout. The gender ratio is also quite decent. There are many students coming from different backgrounds and areas which makes the crowd more diverse. There is a session every Friday after college hours called as "Friday Paathshalla" which arranges many games, events etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are located in Nerul and provide good accommodation and facilities. There is also a library in the hostel premises. The canteen food is very good and is priced at reasonable rates. Also cleanliness and proper hygiene is maintained in the canteen and hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are extremely helpful in providing academic advice. The alumni network is also pretty strong.
Exam Structure
The labs are very well maintained. There are 2 Internal Assesment Tests conducted each semester. Also the college conducts a preliminary exam for students appearing for first sem. Besides all these, there are many periodic tests conducted weekly for practice.
Admission
I got admission through CAP rounds conducted by DTE. The institute was alloted to me in the first CAP round. We had to go to Faciliation centre and Admission Reporting Center to submit the online form and later, confirm the admission in the college.
Faculty
Till now, Awesome! They really know their respective subject and are passionate about sharing extra knowledge with us and clearing our doubts. Also the teachers work hard to ensure that each and every student not only passes but scores good marks and gain expertise in that subject.
