Remarks

Our college is one of the finest in the country when it comes to foundry and forge industries its alumni are placed at high positions in their respective fields. I discovered a whole new world here full of opportunities grabbing it at the right time is all that is needed.

Entrance Preview

I qualified JEE mains exam in 2016 and appeared for its counselling i had scored 129 marks so far. I opted for manufacturing engg in this college because of its specialization in this particular branch as i love mechanics very much.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As nifft ranchi is a specialized college focusing only on foundry and forge industry, there is an ample space to explore your ideas or carry out research programmes. The course structure is entirely industry oriented. It emphasizes on honing one,s practical skills and molding one'self into a 'ready for industry'engineer.

Internships Opportunities

I have said it earlier also that because of its specialization in manufacturing ,it produces world class manufacturing engineers who are pioneers it.I proudly say that nifft ranchi provides internships to students of many colleges including iits nits etc. Students generally avail a stipend of around 5000-10000 rupees. Internship would help one get deeper into the practical aspect of the subject and will make them ready for industrial world. The overall experience is just amazing. Actually nifft provides a whole round of true industry experience as heavy engineering corporation(HEC),Ranchi is located just near the college.

Placement Experience

4

Nifft Ranchi marks almost 100%placements in both its trades i.e. Manufacturing engg and metallurgy and materials engineering. Renowned companies like Tata motors, Kirloskar, Jindal Steel, Bosch Industries, Usha Martin etc visit our campus every year average annual package is around 4.5 to 5 lacs per anumn.

College Events

3

Our institute organised JINKS festival which is largest cultural festival of eastern india. A pleothra of activities like dance and music shows, fashion shows, cultural dance, sports tournaments etc are organised every year. It also organised technical fests in which students of many renowned institutes are invited it provides a bigger platform to showcase their ideas and avail opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The institute is not expensive as fee is highly subsidized fee for 4 years hovers around just 2 lac rupees. So i feel its quite feasible for everyone. Moreover , one can get a bank loan easily if required. One can also make up for his institutional expenses by availing scholarships which are provided by the institute to its meritorious students.

Fees and Financial Aid

One can easily get loan for this college from any bank. Our college do provide a scholarship for meritorious students from 2nd year onward. A scholarship of 20000 rupees is given to metallurgy engg students (half of which is given by tata steel)and 10000 rupees to manufacturing engineering students.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is 3:10 you will only see around 7-8 girls in a class of 50 or so.There is a gymkhana club in our college where you can explore your hobbies but its only for 3rd and 4th year students only. There isn't much for 1st and 2nd year college students though, cricket tournaments are held from time to time between 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th year students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are quite good students avail double accommodation for 1st year and 2nd students and single accommodation for 3rd and 4th year students frankly speaking mess food is not up to the mark. As mess service providers are appointed on a tender basis, they exercise monopoly over quality of food and mess timings. One has to rely frequently on fast food. Maggi is no less than a boon for students.

Alumni/Alumna

Frankly speaking, seniors arent helpful here. Rather, they are very apt in demoralizing their juniors to a great extent. They would just scare you about semester exams and backlogs and year backs and all sorts of bullshits.

Exam Structure

As an integral part of the rigorous curriculum, exams and lab classes are held frequently.we have 2 exams for each semester namely mid semester and end semester. Lab classes are embedded between the whole schedule. Its not quite hectic but yes, its rigorous.

Admission

After qualifying JEE MAINS exam ,one has to register for its counselling. As a number of colleges (iits, nits, bit mesra etc)use jee mains counselling for their admission process ,a short span of time is given to the candidates for filling of their choices of a particular branch and college according to their preferences.counselling process includes several rounds of seat allotment process once a branch is allotted (according to one's preference order),he/she has to report at the reporting center for declarance of acceptance of that particular branch or continuing for further rounds of seat allotment so that a branch of higher preference order may be allotted. After counselling one has to report to the college in person and complete the final admission process.

Faculty

4

Faculties of this college are quite good they are just experts to satiety in their fields most of the faculties are very humble, cooperative and encouraging. They help a student explore deeper into the subject matter and encourage them to carry out research oriented activities.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

1.The main thing about our campus, campus placements are so good. Branches like CSE & ECE have high placement percentage about 90. 2.From 3rd year students got involved college internships and programmes that allow them to better placements. 3.Top companies like Google,Microsoft,Amazon,Intel,Samsung etc visited our campus. And the highest package of our campus is about 60LPA offered by Amazon. 4.I planned to work after completing my B.Tech.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

On-campus placements are provided to pretty much everyone in the college. With one of the highest percentages of students getting placed, yet the average CTC offered is not up to loving standards, a lot of students opt for higher studies and IAS preparation after college.

We had very little companies for placement ibm and hcl came for bpo jobs.. About 80% left with no jobs after completing the session... Very poor placement opportunities. After completing the jobs most of us went to banglore for searching jobs... We had placement if any after completing 8 semesters We had ibm and hcl but they asked for donations before giving jobs. Packages were 3.6 Lakh to 5 Lakh per year. Overall 20% got placement. I prepared for Government exams after completing my degree.
