Remarks

College has all the makings of being the best college in India, but there is lack of guidance towards the students about the placement process and really to be big.

Entrance Preview

I took GGSIPU Btech entrance test. I got 6234 rank. I only wanted to pursue engineering in Computer Science, and with my rank and cut off Northern India Engineering College was the among the better ones.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course Curriculum is at par with better colleges like DTU or NSIT. Hence, it is a standard which is followed by the college too. In every engineering college only the standard syllabus is taught but there are many groups/ clubs which help you get to know the latest trends. Also there are training conducted by the college on the latest technologies like web development and android development.

Internships Opportunities

College does hold internship fairs where some students take part in too. Stipend is around 5K and experience of the students who have taken the internship as far I have heard is pretty much average, nothing to shout about.

Placement Experience

1.5

Around 40% CSE students get placed by the on-campus placements only with average package of 3.25lakhs, but the placement in other branches is really poor with only around 50 students being placed all together from other branches. Majorly Infosys come and pick anywhere from 80-120 students every year. And apart from it, unfortunately no renowned company come and whatever comes pick on an average 10 students with same around 3.25 package. So, yeah placements is undoubtedly bad in the college.

College Events

2.5

There is a cultural-tech fest and sports meet and also events like freshers party and farewell/convocation celebrated in the college and all are fun events. Not really big or larger than life but yeah are definitely fun! Students do participate in these events and societies of the college and also faculties take the effort to get it better, but still are all average as the college' campus is not really that big.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is about 1 lakh fee per year, which is definitely really less as compared to other private colleges like VIT or SRM. And also, there are not any heavy expenses for anything else and books and training fees are included in the fee structure. So, it indeed is a real relief and probably one of the biggest reasons why student come to the college even without a decent placement record.

Fees and Financial Aid

College did wave off considerable fee for students have 95% and above and also90% above. And also there is some concession for SCs/STs and most importantly college keeps on informing about Govt. various schemes for the same.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is fun inspite of being so hectic. Gender ratio is also not that bad in CSE,ECE,IT and EEE of around 6:1 boys:girls as compared to various other colleges. But in branches such as Civil, it indeed is poor! College do have a lot of diversity from students in Assam, Bihar, Delhi, UP, Haryana all studying together. College do have a real active debating society and also coding clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is no facility of hostel provided by the college, but there are many PGs for boys and girls available around the college ranging anywhere from 4K-10K depending apon the quality of room and location. College canteen is one of the best thing here with amazing food ant real cheap rates. Dosa, chola bhatura, momos, maggie everything is available around Rs30, which indeed is amazing.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really frank. There is no system of addressing seniors with Sir/Mam unlike many other colleges. They share their experience with ease and yes they are really helpful.

Exam Structure

So, there are indeed lots of exams with 2 sessionals(short exams), internal practicals &external practicals and also final exams. Hence, there are indeed so many exams apart from assignments and lab files that it really gets frustrating. But since teacher are really chilled out about the exams, we do are little relaxed as the pattern is so simple that hardly any backlogs happen.

Admission

You need to give the entrance test of GGSIPU. Meeting the basic eligibility criteria of board percentage and the rank you got, you need to fill an online form telling your preferences. Whole procedure is online and according to the cutoff, your rank and also the branch chosen you are allocated a seat when you freeze the seat among the multiple rounds that take place, you need to pay the fee for entire year and submit all your papers to the allocated college.

Faculty

4

Majority of the faculty is Mtech degree holder but there are considerable number of Phd holders too. Faculty in our college is extremely interested to cover up the entire syllabus in due time. They take the efforts of assignments and notes. Faculty really have the knowledge of what topic is good in which book. The teaching in class is also up to the standards. Classes are regular and there indeed lots of doubt sessions is been taken care of.So, there is nothing to fault at all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements are in good terms, many students get a placement with nice package. Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd Semester. TCS made about 7 offers as far as I know. One can expect the highest package of 2.5crore and an average of 200000. About 80% of students gets placement because of the skills they learned wheres the rest 20% are only at college to do mischievous acts. After getting the degree, I will find a job and then after enough capital I will start my own startup.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
