Remarks
If you're from CS/IT and have good percentage you can get opportunity to have jobs for 7lakh but it also depends upon skill set.
Entrance Preview
SEE-UPTU rank was around 5k jss had a good reputation (and still have) specially with respect to computer science courses. It's location was also a reason.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is much like any other private college in India without any special point to mention about. Most of the engineering colleges follow the same curriculum at least as far as on paper curriculum is considered. Electives are also very much the same in all the branches as they are in other colleges across India.
Internships Opportunities
No college does not have any involvement in getting students internship, it's solely your responsibility.
Placement Experience
Pretty irregular, placements were very poor for the batches that pass out in 14 and 15 (that was mine) but unexpectedly 16 batch had a very good year in terms of placements. This year (16') most of the students who were eligible to sit in placements got at least one offer letter (as far as I know from juniors other sources) . Three 3 major mass recruiting companies visited college that too within first 4 months of 7th semester.
College Events
One combined Techno-cultural and 2-3 small events more, nothing else. Techno-cultural fest is of 3 days but standard of fest is no where near to a college level Techno-cultural and biggest reason for it is no singer or band is invited and very less funds are released for it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Not much expensive but not less expensive too. Around 125k for college and around 70k for hostel.*(slight variation us possible because I am 15' batch pass out). Although it can't be compared government funded colleges specially NITs, IITs or IIITs or even with private colleges like Amity but it's good in it's domain.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, not college but UPTU provide scholarship which is based on caste (sc/st) and Income group of your parents. Also branch openers in terms of rank also get some scholarship in tuition fee.
Campus Life
Campus life - 4/5 (but completely depends upon individual) gender ratio -pretty low in core branches but better in cs/IT/ECE diversity - not as such what about extracurricular - pretty less when you compare with other colleges labs- Not bad, Sports - Not bad, Robotics - Decent, debates – Not much.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel - 4/5, Mess food-3/5 Pros - Hostel is pretty good, rooms are spacious and well designed including basic furnishing like single beds with boxes and Cupboards. Table lamp fixed study platforms are also present in every room. People from cleaning services comes once a week but washrooms (common for all in a block) are cleaned on alternate days.
Alumni/Alumna
Completely depend upon individuals there is not much help in real sense but since this college is just 18 years old we can expect some good poll of alumni in future.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is like any other engineering college in India. 1000 Marks each semester with 5 subjects and generally it includes 1 management subject. In some semester 500 theory and 500 practical/viva/presentation etc while some have 450 theory and 550 practical/viva/presentation. In final semester 350 marks for theory exam and rest are for project/presentations.
Admission
Once you clear your uptu exam depending upon your rank you can apply for different colleges affiliated with uptu (which is now called ABJ Abul kalam technical university) out of which JSS is one of them. Depending upon your rank in UPTU can get admission in JSS through UPTU's common counseling for colleges. For example you need to have rank under 3k (without any reservation) to get admission in b.tech C.Sc.
Faculty
Some are above average and some are below most of the faculties are highly qualified in terms of degrees but teaching is all about skills which solely depends upon the subject, students to be taught and experience, so there is no hard and fast verdict about faculty and their teaching capacity.
