Remarks

The only bad thing about the management is the recent issue that has arose in the college because of the fight between the brother owners which is not getting resolved.

Entrance Preview

I didn't give any entrance exam apart from a personal interview. I choose this college because it was rated good for MBA and had recently opened the undergraduate wing. So planned to do both degrees in one go.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure was good. It took us through the basics and slowly advanced. The electives given were Human resources, Finance and Marketing. The elective courses are pretty much focused and very detailed. They did clash with the core subjects but it only made the topics clearer. We had presentations and research papers to help grasp the concept.

Internships Opportunities

No the college does not provide any kind of internships. We can do it on our own if we wish to but its not something which was given much importance.

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunity was pretty good. The companies ranged from Amazon to AIG to Realbridge. The packages were from Rs.15000 to Rs 30000 per month. 8 from a class of 40 students were selected. This was mainly because we even missed a few interviews and few didn't go at all but overall at least two were selected in any given company.

College Events

2

We had very few festivals and events held at our college. They were very big and only our own college students participated. No outside colleges were invited. Though we were regularly informed if any other college conducted any fest and allowed to participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was pretty feasible for undergraduate course. It was around Rs. 2 lakhs for India residents and around Rs. 2.8 for NRIs. Thus when compared to a few other undergraduate colleges in Bangalore was affordable. Also the gap between what the residents pay and what the NRIs pay is pretty less when compared to others.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is scholarship for Karnataka students. Also scholarship is provided under various categories like Merit, Sports, differently abled and St/Sc qouta.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio is almost half. But it has no effect as such on the students or faculty. No one is discriminated based on gender or race or any such basis. From the teachers to the students all are required to follow it. Also there a strict no ragging rule. Dorm parties are allowed unless they become wild.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is hostel facility for both girls and boys. The rent reasonable and with good facilities. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. You get a chair and table and a wardrobe with every bed. Most of the rooms have attached bathroom though a few might not. Free WIFI connection, fridge and washing machine. But only disadvantage is the food. For North Indian a lot of adjusting is required for food. Even if you get North side menu it doesn't taste the same. Same for PGs. Even if you get a really expensive one still the food quality remains same. A good standard PG rent starts at Rs. 6000 per month inclusive of food.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors were very helpful and supportive. They guided us through anything that we found hard to take from the faculty. They behaved more like friends than seniors.

Exam Structure

We had two major exams every semester so that did not give us much stress. What did stress us was the presentations and group project submission which was almost everyday. That did make it a little hectic. Though it has its plus point in improving our interactive skills. It didn't leave time for leisure activities.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties are highly qualified and interested to teach but the visiting faculty took much lesser interest in teaching. It was more like chore for them. Also one disadvantage was when we had dissertations. We were assigned mentors but the interaction level between the mentor and student was the least. It resulted in most students doing a sloppy work and getting okay grades.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
