Remarks

I am pretty much satisfied with my college. Its pretty much perfect but one thing they can improve in is lowering their fees a bit. Apart from that they should never let go their existing staffs because presently it has one of the best faculty.

Entrance Preview

There's no entrance exam as such. Your admission to the college depends on your board's marks. This year the cut off percentage was somewhat around 76%. It varies year to year so keep yourself updated about it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Though it is registered under Calcutta University which updates its syllabus and study materials rarely but the college tries every possible thing to teach its students about the current affairs that's going around and if changes comes they teach us that also although that won't come in exam. It's a pretty good thing.

Internships Opportunities

As i am in the 2nd year i don't know much about the internship thing like which company comes and all but one thing i can tell you that this college has a dedicated placement cell and you can register yourself and check out all the details about internship in the college website which is very clearly mentioned.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students from our college have been placed in companies like IBM, ITC, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC, WIPRO, The Louis Berger Group, Credit Suisse AG, UBS Investment Bank, Bank of America, Deloitte U.S. India offices, Accenture, DSP Merrill Lynch Ltd, LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd, ICICI Bank, Emami, Star Cement Meghalaya Limited, Cushman & Wakefield, Yes Bank, Goldman Sachs, Ernst & Young, PWC, Citi, Reebok India, AIG Global Investment Group, Vodafone India, Deloitte India, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Airtel Limited, Axis Bank.

College Events

5

This college boasts of a number of co curricular activities. It organised Umang every year which is its annual fest and its the second best college fest in the city, Kolkata. Apart from that, sports events goes on happening round the year like basketball, pool, etc.In case of academic events. It has round the year workshops and fun events which keep on coming. And the most interesting thing about it is the club-it has everything for everyone. You will be spoil with choices

Fee Structure And Facilities

I think the fees structure is a little bit high but the quality of education that's given the infrastructure and the numerous events and activities compensates all. Previously it was 34000 but now its increased to 36800. But you won't be given any option to lament once you start studying there because it's worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

I think yes. One needs to talk to the management.about it. Need to show the required documents to support the claim.

Campus Life

4.5

Talking about extra curricular activities, according to me it has one of the best extra curricular activities for their students. With the help of those activities they never let a student get bored with his/her study. Talking about gender ratio, you will find as much female students as male students and all kinds of religion, ethnicity. There's no discrimination against anyone. There's no ragging faced by me in this two years of college life. So don't worry there's no ragging and the cherry on the cake there's no unions either. So have a happy campus life.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Talking about the mess food. The college canteen serves the cheapest and hygienic food compared to any other place in that area. Nowhere near the college can you find so cheap foods. Plus one will have a variety to choose from. The only negative thing about the canteen is it doesn't serve non veg food being a Gujarati owned college.

Alumni/Alumna

No. I don't have any idea about it. But as much as i have heard i can tell you the seniors won't rag you in the canteen or anywhere in the campus so don't worry.

Exam Structure

It strictly follows the CU exam structure and abides by it. One need to pass in all the subjects in order to retain their honors paper otherwise they need to opt for B.Com general. There are 3 main exams of Cu in each year that happens during july-august. Apart from that college has its own unit tests to prepare the students for the main exam.

Faculty

4.5

Baring one or two teachers most of them are super talented and teach in a very funny and interesting manner. One will find even the boring maths and economics college interesting here. One thing that's appreciable is that the teachers are very much dedicated to teaching and doesn't only care about their fat salary each month. Don't believe if anyone says BGES has bad faculty. Trust me on this.

There is a placement cell club which functions in the college itself which is efficient in providing over 67 to 98% of students with placements. This percentage can vary for different years and different courses. The college has been successful in attracting top recruiters like deloitte, wipro, TCS, and leader companies from various other sectors. Packages vary significantly from 4 to 6 LPA up to 24LPA. After getting my degree i am planning to first make sure that i have completed my CA course that i am pursuing alongside. And then going ahead with either a job outside kolkata or open a business in kolkata itself.

They always come forward to resolve our academic and nonacademic doubts. Their teaching methods are also good. we don't need to purchase any book, their notes are enough for our syllabus.
