Remarks

Because my senior said it’s a good college and with my percentage I could easily get into it. Also I love this city and that’s why chose to study here. The overall ambiance of the place is really good along with the teaching faculty who have years of experience and understand the need of that particular subject. The college also has a lot of other programs one can join such as diploma, centre of excellence, NSS, NCC and more. So one doesn’t only graduate from his/her major subject but also can earn a lot more perks from this college. There is unity in diversity here, people from all around the world come to pursue their dream career from scratch. I love this place because I made such great friends and met such amazing teachers here.

Course Curriculum Overview

The courses over here is the best thing, one who’s from arts can do a diploma course in business management, marketing, advertising, etc and if anyone is from commerce/science background then there are a lot of other courses such as creative writing, art, music, dance. So yes, variety of courses one can chose from. Faculty is great and always helpful although I felt to some extent that there is a little bit of racism for the students who aren’t from the Maharashtra state.

Internships Opportunities

Customer Service Representative at EXL Service Ltd. Salary- 15000

Placement Experience

2.5

There’s no placement cell as such for the B.A students with English Honours(from my personal experience). The placement cell majorly works only for the B.Com students. I really wished if they could ever bring companies who hire B.A in English, psychology and economics students because at the end of college year we stay like a cliffhanger.

College Events

4

Life at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce is the best because of the friends I made in this 3 years. The infrastructure sucks a bit but there’s something different in the air the moment you enter and most of them welcomes you with warm heart and helping hands. Great ambiance, annual feast is amazing here and they also host a lot of other workshops and seminars.

Campus Life

There is no field or anything for students to play sports or organise any sports competition. The infrastructure is the only drawback of this institution I guess. I am from SCAC and in the same campus there are more 4 campus for health science, nursing and others along with hostel, auditorium and canteen. The place is pretty packed if you come and see on the day of marksheet/hall ticket distribution. You won’t be able to move as there’s no space at all. The classrooms are very very small compared to the number of students they take in each year. That’s why we have 3 shifts- morning, afternoon and evening to divide the students in each shift for the subject classes.

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.
