Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum bridges the gap between Academia and Industry, making it the perfect blend. The written exams are conducted twice in an academic year (Based on Semesters). Difficulty would be Moderate to Difficult

Internships Opportunities

4

Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce offers a lot of internship opportunities by The Placement Cell. Some of the companies that have come are D.E. Shaw, Deloitte USI (GSM), Alliance Berstein, ACA Global, EY India and much more. The stipend ranges from 18000 - 40000 INR per month.

Placement Experience

5

SCAC has very good Placement and Internship Opportunities. Students from their 2nd year (i.e. 3rd semester onwards) are eligible for Internships. Students from their 3rd year(i.e 5th semester) are eligible for campus placements. Companies like the Big 4 (Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY), Bank of New York, Deutsche Bank, GOMO, D.E.Shaw, ProcDNA, and many more come to our campus. The highest Package offered is 24 LPA and the average Package is 5.8 LPA. As of 2023, around 60% of the students who wanted to get placed, have been placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a 3rd year student - UG (brought up in Pune), currently studying B.Com - Banking and Finance (Honours). Fees for TY students range from 32,000-1,60,000 INR. As I have opted for honours, my fees (Before NEP) for this academic year i.e. 2024-25 came to 56100 INR.

Campus Life

4

SCAC has a very vibrant campus life focusing on all social development and personal development. They have a lot of clubs and associations that engages students of different hobbies and interests. Books and Journals are readily available in the college library.

Admission

The admission process here at SCAC is based on Merit. Your 12th Grade marks are the major determinant of admission at SCAC. Overall Admission process is smooth as various information is given out if students are interested.

Faculty

3

The Faculty to student ratio changes based on courses. Most of the times, the faculty-to-student relationship is great as teachers are very approachable, so much so that you can go to them to solve any query - academic or otherwise. The exams are conducted in a very fair manner with emphasis on application based questions instead of Rote-Learning.

Night Life

3

Being on SB Road, SCAC has a lot of places to chill/ wind back. There is a gym in the campus. In case people prefer cafes, there are many nearby. Additionally there are various messes that provide home cooked meals. The locality is mostly filled with student hostels. It is pretty safe to roam around at night.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Mulund College of Commerce are fairly good especially after the college received autonomous status. Some of the well known companies like Deloitte, KPMG etc visited. The average package is around approx. 3,00,000 per annum. In my case I'm currently pursuing CA along with my B.com degree so my focus is more on completing my CA course and gaining practical training rather than the immediate placement. The college provides a good support for students like me through flexible schedules, guidance and internship exposure. Overall, MCC prepares students well for both employment and professional qualifications helping us build a strong foundation for future career growth.

I am the part of NSS unit .. there I am genuinely learning and enjoying.. But I have figured out that for leo and Rotract they won't give credits to fy degree college students so I feel they should include first-year UGs as well. They are not giving opportunities to junior college students so I feel they junior college students should also have access to be part of different clubs and curriculums

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.com is base of all the course in commerce. And we also can do any other jobs to increase our experience in practical world because in other courses we are not able to get practical experience which is very important. The curriculum is too good as everything is about real world. There is no need to study something which is irrelevant. Everything is good but, I want that as our college opens early at 7am so library should also be open at the same time. Because many times when lectures are cancelled we just waste our time as library opens at 9am.

No issue for attendace thats what influenced me to join for bcom. not even bcom for every degree you dont need attendance just keep track of assignments. curriculum is useless no mistake of college its the syllabus of mumbai university. Teachers can be more sophisticated. 2 exams in a year are conducted and are very easy to pass out for a normal student.

Remarks:

I was a student of KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce. College is autonomus now and the exams paper are set by college & not university. Faculty is good. Campus is excellent. Once you leave the college, you will miss everything from lectures, 4 ways, maggi house, management canteen, IV etc. Management students do have placements in good companies. (BMS, BBI, BFM, BAF) So, in short it is a good college with decent students & faculty.
