Remarks

I really love my university. I think choosing this university was the best thing I did till the date. The management is very good and the interaction between the students and the management is very good. They are very responsible and provide sudden actions.

Course Curriculum Overview

Speaking of the design of curriculum, it's very remarkable. Surely I can say it's groomed to provide industry- specific knowledge. One of the most interesting feature is that, here we can choose our carrier pathways, and the university will provide additional courses based on what we chose. For example, if we choose higher education, the university will provide additional subjects that helps in achieving it or if we choose placement as a pathway, they will provide training for that also. The university actually provides a lot of resources for our future. We university frequently organises Industrial visits, some are mandatory and some are not. Also here in the university we have access to all the latest machineries and gadgets.

Placement Experience

4

The placement packages are average. But if you are highly talented to can expect a good one. More than 500 companies came there for recruitment. Most of them are highly reputed companies like Google, Amazon, etc. The university provides special trainings for students who wish to sit for placement drives. Each company set a certain limit like only students with this much CGPA can appear for their placement drive. If you're grades are not so bad, then by attending the placement classes will increase your chance of getting placed in a company.

College Events

5

Almost everyday some kind of events will be going on. The opportunities are immense. Many National level competitions are held in the university. The university give equal importance to every event. in my experience, it's a great way to release stress.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not that feasible, but the college will provide scholarships based on your performance in their entrance exam and other competative exams. In that way it's feasible. My actual program fee is 90, 000/- per semester. Since I have a scholarship of 40%, I only have to pay 54, 000/- per semester. The university accepts both offline and online mode of payment, namely via paytm. usually there is no additional charges and if you pay through Paytm, there will be a cash back also. During the admission we have to pay 10, 000 to confirm the seat but later it will be subtracted from our semester fee. The payments are transparent and all the transaction can be reviewed at any time.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have got a scholarship of 40% based on my performance in their entrance exam. The university offers scholarships based on many criterias, like entrance rank, jee percentile, 10th/12th marks. They also provide scholarships based on sports and other talents. There is council for scholarships, so for any queries, they will provide information.

Campus Life

I really enjoy my campus life. Every resources that are needed for a student is readily available in the campus. That gender ratio is almost the same but to be precise, the percentage of men is slightly higher than female. The campus greatly supports extracurricular activities. Competitions are held frequently in every domain. The exposure to different cultures is a very good aspect of the university. We can't find any dissemination between anyone. There is no scope of ragging I the campus, that campus is 100% ragging free. The labs in the university are excellent. All the latest equipments can be found in the lab. So students can manufacture anything thay thay want in the labs.

Hostel Facilities

I have opted for hostels. The hostels are pretty decent and well maintained. The hostel wardens are very good to students. The rooms are good and the staff clean it daily of we want. The mess food is adjustable. Hostels are safe compared to PG. The fee for a 4 seater air cooled room is 55, 000/- per year. There are many PGs arround the campus and are very cheap compared to hostel fee( is few people are sharing the property). The avarage rent for PG is 16, 000/- a month, but usually four or five people will the shareing the property.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a very good alumni network. They usually takes seminar and discussions with us about their experiences.

Admission

I chose this course because I was interested in robotics and automation. I chose this college because of a couple of reasons: 1. The course I wanted to do was not available in many colleges. 2. Compared to other private universities, the fees here is feasible. 3. They provide a lot of scholarships. 4. 500+ companies come here for placements. 5. Since the university have people from different parts of the world, I would get an exposure to different languages and culture. The admission procedure was not so tedious, the college provided full support during the admission procedure. I first registered for their entrance examination through their website. The exam centre was in my district, so I didn't had to go to Punjab to write the exam. The exam was not so tough. After a week or more, the university had sent a mail with my marksheet and an admission letter. I got a scholarship of 40%. Then I completed the admission procedure through their website. The university guided us throughout the procedure. so it was very easy.

Faculty

4

The faculties of the university are good. They don't put so much pressure on us. The number of lectures per week vary from course to course. As far as my course is conserned, I have 30 lectures in a week. Even though most of the facilities are good, there are still some who lack experience. Most of my teacher hold a doctorate degree. Some of them are not good at explaining things to the students even though they are 'experienced'. Overall the teaching is good, and the student- teacher interaction is well maintained in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute error free. She was laughing at such a test. She said no one does that anymore, they just type then run spell check. Technology is changing our NEEDS opinion is that curriculum should reflect our reality. No one gets paid to solve problems that have already been solved. Students should be exposed to solving problems they have not seen before but that can be solve with the content they have learned in class. This will help them develop problem solving strategies they will be able to use the rest of their lives

The tempo is always going here strong as academics are strong and tough too. We don't get much breaks or vacations inbetween the semester and even guest faculties invitation and their lectures are also amazing. So upstick in academics is always here and extra bit of things are there in our academics.

There are many campus placements in my college. Students become eligible for campus placement from the 6th semester, and major companies start coming during 7th and 8th semesters. Major reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant and Accenture visit the campus every year and offer good number of job to students . The highest package of my college is 3.5 cr. The average package for CSE students ranges between 4 to 6 LPA depending upon the company and students skill. Profile offered include software developer, data analyst.A good percentage of eligible students get placed every year as the university provides proper training, mock interviews, and skill development programs. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a good placement through campus recruitment. Later I may also consider for showing higher studies.

Remarks:

I did not get admission in any other good college as my JEE Mains result was 85 percentile only. My 12th result was quite good in this aspect with PCM% as 96.33%. So I decided to go for Thapar as it allowed admissions through 12th PCM% and was the best college I was getting. Thapar has NIRF ranking 25 and good placement records which made me choose Thapar as my college for Under Graduation studies. The thing I like most about the college is that it's huge and it's infrastructure is very good with all the advanced technologies equipped. Also the culture in Thapar is pretty friendly and healthy competition is also there which is required for a person's overall growth. I have opted for Computer Engineering in Thapar as I've always been interested in computer science subject and have taken computer in my 12th class too. So, I had a fair idea and quite an interest in this subject.
