Yarlagadda Trinath's Review On Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute Of Technology - [SVNIT], Surat

It was among the best college i could according to my jee score and nirf rankings of the colleges un india.I wanted to study in one of the NIT so i had to give jee entrance but i got less score to get admitted to the best Nit according to nirf ranking.so i had to wait till the special rounds got started as i didn't get selected by JOSAA.In special round i got this college. And reason i took the course is my passion for physics.if i had opted for some engineering subjects with less demand i might have got into some engineering branch but i had to follow my passion so that i don't regret afterwards. I am very happy that i made correct decision.

My course is good but it could be lot more better now they updated curriculum for our juniors ours is the last batch with old curriculum.the thing i like in academics is we get more free time so that we explore other fields ,other subjects that are not involved in our academics.mostly we get teaching assistants to teach us but this is changing . We can expect we get experienced faculties soon.we have 1 profeesor,around 5 assistant profeesors in our department.

Placement opportunities are good for my college. Companies like Tcs,Infosys, byjus etc.most of seniors i knew are doing ph.d in european union and they helped my senior to get selected for ph.d through contacts etc.akash banarjee is the super senior of us did ph.d from germany and now doing post doctrate in india .

We have 2 cultural fest each year.1 will be in odd semester during navaratri time total 3 night events namely singing night,dancing night,garba night. And 2 is spring fest it includes both technical events in morning sessions and cultural events in the evenings Apart from cultural fest we have many technical events etc every now and then orgwnised by departments, student chapters etc.their are so many clubs that you can join and explore your interests like dancing club,photography club,theater club,science club etc.

Most of our ground is not used because of not maintaining properly only a part of it is used and that to college teams will be practicing and rest of students don't get to play their.library is good wifi so excellent all over the college.equipments in few labs are to be updated to new ones but they are not doing due to lack of fund to department l.

Hostel facilities are good.first year stidents get double rooms and from secound year onwards you get single rooms according to availability. Wifi is always there with good internet connectivity. Food is excellent you get north indian and south indian food divided in week according to the day.you won't get Non-veg in hostel but you can eat outside.jains etc can are given separate food prepaid for them. Mess fees is around 17500 per semester.and hostel fee is 20500 annually
