Remarks

Good- faculties, bad- more companies could come as on-campus in the college. Because most campus/placement was happening in off-campus and pulled-campus way. college management was also good.

Entrance Preview

Exam-AIEEE. rank-3733 (orissa rank). It that time this college was ranked 8th among all orissa engineering college and it was good for etc branch. My senior suggest me the same also. So i joined this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

As i told earlier it was good for etc branch (electronics and tele-communication). Faculties follow bput (biju pattnaik university and technology) provided syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

I was receiving 10000 per year and that is because i was doing bachelors studies. This scholarship was given by orissa government. College does not provide any special stipend to anybody.

Placement Experience

2.5

I could say, placement was good. during my batch some companies came and some people got selected. wipro came as on-campus in our college and 51 people got selected in wipro. Also some off-campus and some pulled-campus happened during my batch. Also indian army came to select people from our college but unluckily, none got selected. Wipro offered 3.25lakh pa as initial packege, and also some small companies like bhusan steel plant offer 1.8lakh pa.

College Events

4

There was an annual function name - synfest which was occuring once in a year and that also for continuous 2 days. Some big stars from indian idol and some good and popular dancers were coming durng that time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

During my batch annual fees was in control but afterwards batch people it got increased. During my time annual fees was around 52k and hostel fees was 24k, but from my next batch, people have paid 58k annual college fees and 32k as hostel fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was receiving a scholarship from orissa govt. college was not providing any loan facility to any student.

Campus Life

2

College campus was not so big but not small also. we had a small cricket playground, and a proper basketball ground in our college. Some times some interesting and crazy competitions are also happening in our college. Also annually we had debate, essay writing, robotics and all such competitions were happening.

Hostel Facilities

3

In hostel we were getting aqua guard water which is a good thing. For me fooding is good but not the best. people were enjoying nonveg food twice a week. We had 24*7 electricity and common bathroom in our hostel, also in hostel we had a small gym center and also for playing we had enjoyed table tennis, chess and carrom facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

For me i could say senior students were helpful. they were helping us in studies, resolving problems. They were also taking charge for any events and also co-coordinating with us, so events can happen in a smooth way.

Exam Structure

Yes, exam too well structured. but i could say bit lack of instruments in labs but still could manageable. Faculties are so strict during exam times (so for some people it may hectic ) ).

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are good. i can say it will be a mix experience, some are best and some are average. but overall its good. their lectureship standard is above average.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

From 7th sem the students became eligible for campus selection. Companies like Infosys, EVEREADY, ACC , ultratech and many more offering annual packages starting from 2lakhs to 8lakhs. Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
