Remarks

As i said above, the faculties in the college is not so good. Since the lectures in rhe colleges are freshers and have very less experience in teaching. And the management is the worst. They dont have idea how to run a college properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

SIET, Dhenkanal is affilated to BPUT, Odisha. It has 5 branches(Mechanical, Civil, Comp Sci, Electrical,Electronics and Telecomunication) It consist of 4 years consisting 8 semesters. So you have to give 8 sem exams and should clear them with good marks to get the certificate. Each year consist of 2 semester. So in 1st year you will have about 10 subjects(5 in each semester), and it will increase to 12 subjects in 2ns year and 14 subjects in 3rd year but in final year there will be 10 subjects. In the final year you have to make a project on the basis of your branch. There will be presentation and many other activities and many seminars will be conducted which is compulsory for all the students.

Placement Experience

2

This is very unfortunate to say , placements and job opportunities are very limited here. Only few good companies like Wipro ,Tech Mahindra and some small companies conducts campus placements in the college.

College Events

3

Many technical and financial seminars are conducted by college. College conducts various cultural event called Synfest every year, where the student has the opportunity to showcase their talents like Singing, Dancing, Acting and others. Before this sports events are conducted in the college. The college also conducts NCC camps for the students who are in NCC. Appart from this we also have separate hostel functions for both boys and girls. College celebrates various festivals such as Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, Vishwakarma Puja etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college is Rs1.2Lakh/year. It can be negotiated. You can pay the fee in one installment or through 4 installments in a year. It is necessary to pay the installments before registrating for respective semester. U have to produce a no due certificate for taking the registraition card for Sem exams. If due to any circumstances if u are not able to pay, you have to request Principal to allow you for recieving the registration card for sem exams. I think it is one of the cheapest private engineering colleges in Odisha right now.

Fees and Financial Aid

College is providing scolarships to the students through rhe scolarship programs provided by Govt to SC/ST/OBC. There are scolarshio programs like PRERANA, Medhabruti etc. If you are eligible for the scolarship, you have to bring thw required documents and college will help to get scolarship from Govt.

Campus Life

3

Every year sport activities are conducted in the college and the students got reward according to their perfomance. But overall sports facilities is not so good. If u are an athlete, there is a big field for football, cricket, basketball ground and tennis court.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel facilities is decent. There is one care taker and 2 hostel superitendents ro take care of the hostel students. If u have any problem, then u can contact them to solve the problem. A gym is attached to the hostel, if u are a fittness frwak, it might be helpful for you. And the market is near to you, where food and all other items are available.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful. They gives us idea about what to do and how to do a project. They discuss many things with us like, what to do and what not to do after graduation. They give suggestions regarding exams and jobs preparation.

Admission

I got admission through jee main emtrance exam. And one of my relatives working in the college. So it was quite easier to get admission the college. Although if anyone have scored low in JEE exam, can get asmission the college.

Faculty

2.5

Most of them are qualified and teaches really well. If we consider the faculties the college before 5-6 years, the faculty in the college is not so good. The experienced teachers left the college and only freshers or the lectures with very less experience are there. So faculty in the college right now is not so good considering the faculty the college used to had 5-6 years ago.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

From 7th sem the students became eligible for campus selection. Companies like Infosys, EVEREADY, ACC , ultratech and many more offering annual packages starting from 2lakhs to 8lakhs. Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
