Remarks
A. The liberal arts program allowing students to have the liberty to choose what courses to take and explore various fields before declaring a major. B. The cost of the program because it gives you international level education for a much lesser fee compared to the tuition you'd pay there. C. The research oriented teaching style of the university that allows students to research and learn on their own.
Course Curriculum Overview
The liberal arts curriculum is very new to India and the idea of giving the liberty to the students to opt for courses they'd like rather than enforcing courses to choose upon them. The syllabi also changed according to the preference of the students and the faculty is amazing. The faculty has two kinds: visiting and permanent. Visiting faculty from various prestigious universities from around the world allows students to understand new perspectives.
Placement Experience
The entrepreneurship is one of the minors available at Ashoka which allows students to venture and build their own start-ups. A student of Ashoka pursued their passion of cooking by starting a restaurant on campus called The Hunger Cycle. Most students apply to universities abroad for further studies.
College Events
Ashoka has events every now and then. Because of the pandemic, the events have been shifted online and are being conducted successfully with over 250-300 people attending each event.
Campus Life
The campus is built upon 25-acres and a new campus is bound to be completed by 2020 on another 25-acres. The university has all the facilities from food outlets to libraries. The hostel is co-Ed but the movement of opposite genders across dorms is restricted as well.
Hostel Facilities
The room is twin-sharing. The hostel is co-ed with male on one side of the building and female on another. The movement of the opposite gender is restricted by rules and the students have the liberty to choose an access or non-access floor.
