Remarks

I had the option to choose between DTU, NSIT, and a few NIT. Since DTU ranked better in certain courses as compared to the aforementioned colleges, I chose to opt for a course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at DTU. The fact that DTU was located in my home state was convenient and certainly impacted my decision in joining the college. DTU certainly has better infrastructure, courses, and faculty. But what made DTU unique was a campus culture honed through ages and star-studded alumni.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum has been pretty much the same for the past 30 years, though minor additions or modifications have been made in the past. Relevant Industrial Exposure is indeed provided, but research-oriented exposure requires a personal venture.I believe DTU has more to boast about its motley of societies, Research work, and thriving campus culture as opposed to a curriculum.

Placement Experience

4.5

It is usually the case that anyone who wants a job through placements eventually ends up getting one. The college was visited by most of the multinationals, the big 4, Texas Instruments, Samsung, Uber, Ola, San-Disk, etc. The training and placement department is one of the most active and diligent departments in the college. It has been noted that in some years the placement was over 100 percent since many individuals had multiple offer letters. I too was placed in 2 companies. The placement process usually entailed an aptitude test followed by GD and PI.

College Events

5

The premier cultural festival that our college holds is called Engifest. Various societies conduct their own festivals and events but none can match the stature of Engifest. Engifest registers somewhere around 5-10 thousand people every night for 3 days. There are various technical fests conducted by different departments. The most noted is the Innova Technical Fest.

Campus Life

4.5

DTU has a cricket ground which is also a makeshift football ground. There are 2 basketball courts and a tennis lawn. Athletics is also performed in the field. The college has campus-wide wifi available to all registered pupils. The library has been recently renovated and is replete with content to every field. The library can seat up to 700 people at a time. Laboratories in my department were top of the line and contained up to date equipment.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are quite decent with both sharing and single rooms. One usually gets a single room in 4th year or on a special request. Hostels are provided first to students residing outside Delhi and then to Delhiites depending on the availability.18000 rupees was the room rent and you paid for food monthly depending on your consumption. To avail a cooler you had to pay 700 rupees extra on top of the rent. Each room had a broadband connection. Since the rooms were limited ( though new hostels are under construction) it was immensely difficult to get a room. I got my room at the end of my 3rd semester after a harrowing experience at the hostel office.

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

As per I've heard, placements here are decent. I can't say for sure because I'm new here. About my plans, I am doing CFA side by side because I don't believe that a bachleors degree has any valur of it's own, one needs to pair it with something else.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a person who wants to build a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, B.A.(Hons.) Economics was my first choice. This course not only provide valuable insights into how real world economics work, but it also has great career prospects. Students studying economics major actively take consulting, research, risk management as popular career choices. Since this is a practical course with a broad focus on mathematics, the difficulty level is from moderate to high.

Placement Experience:

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

Placements Cell is working very closely with industries and therefore the first learn their requirements and then they train us accordingly. So after a proper training in 2 years, we are made to sit for interviews in the 3rd year and thankfully around 80 odd percentage of girls form our college are placed.
