MANGALAM GUPTA's Review On Dharmsinh Desai University - [DDU], Nadiad

According to my score in the exam, I prepared a list of colleges according to last year's cuttoff marks and landed in this college. Also before taking admission I had visited the campus and explored the whole campus. After this I had booked my seat during the counselling.

Faculties are good. They are helpful even after lectures. Some of them are Phd holders too. Curriculum is designed according to the guidelines issued by IIT Bombay. We dont need extra coaching for GATE exams as our syllabus and level of teachings covers all the syllabus. In last sem, we had an industrial training of 4 months which nurtures the qualities of an engineer.

I had done internship at Johnsons Control-Hitachi Ltd, Kadi, Gujarat. I had done my internship under production department. Stipend was not paid to me. I had arranged my internship by networking on Linkedin.

For mechanical students, it is not that much performed good this year as only 9 students placed out of 112. For other departments, they performed well with computer department making 100% placements and other departments taking an average of 90%. For mechanical, it is not done great this year.

We have an annual cultural techfest called Felicific. This is the the only event which is organized by the university at state level. Participation from outside colleges is not that much. Overall the events are below average.

Infrastructure is quite descent. The mechanical department is situated in the newly constructed building called Narayan Bhavan. All the labs and testing equipments are very well maintained here only. 2 CAD Labs are also available with advanced softwares like AutoCad, Solidworks, Matlab, Creo and Ansys.

There is no hostel for boys. But there are private hostels and PGs near the campus in which boys can reside. The average rent of PGs is around 2500-3000rs. in sharing of 4 peoples. Gujraati Cuisine is served in the hostels. There is dedicated hostel for girls managed by university.
