Firstly, previous year I was already in a state government college. Muzaffarpur institute of technology. So, I did my jee preparation altogether with their college things. Admission process of my college i.e NIT is jossa and csab , I got this college from csab counselling. My rank was 88k .and i got nit sikkim civil in 3rd round of csab counselling. As per my JEE Mains rank, NIT Sikkim was the college i was getting along with some other NITs in north east for core branches and some other NITs in lower branches. I chose NIT Sikkim as it is located in a very scenic location in the state of sikkim and it is not very far from my home town. I got Mechanical Engineering which i wanted to pursue to it was also a major point in selecting this college. I applied to the same course of some other NITs as well but as per my JEE Rank this was the option i was getting through the counselling. Mode of admission to NIT Sikkim is you need to clear a national level examination called Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains the as per your scorecard you need to apply for JOSAA counselling followed by CSAB special round counselling. Cutoff is about 97 percentile for students belonging from general catory but there is reservation for Home state students as 50% of the seats at every NIT is reserved for students belonging from the native state of NIT where it is located and some other reservations are also there for EWS/OBC/SC/ST candidates....Read More

With a 75% in the school I had not faced too much of problem and then I had to clear the JEE exam for the admission because it was set as a basic eligibility. Some categories, such as obc, sc, st, and ews, have some reservations. When you pass the jee main exam, I had to fill out a form in the josaa round for counselling, and there is a csab round after the admission completion....Read More
