Remarks

The main reason why I chose Amity University over the other 2 was that I always wanted to a post graduation program. Well post graduation holds more importance over a diploma program that was the main reason that why I opted for Amity University.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

In every semester I studied a plethora of different media related subjects. And not only theory but they placed a strong emphasis on practical learning as well. We were also exposed to radio practicals where we were asked to make our own radio program and radio advertisement. Apart from radio, we also had a television journalism practical where we were asked to function like an ideal newsroom set-up. The course syllabus was well defined and structured. Along with this we also learnt a foreign language as it is one of the criteria in the university.

Internships Opportunities

As a part of my program I was supposed to do an internship with a news channel. I worked with India Tv for a month and I worked there as an executive editor. I wasnt offered any stipend but a letter of recommendation.

Placement Experience

4

The placements offered at my department are good. In fact currently I am working with the company where I was picked up from my college during the placement process. The companies that came to my department ranged from journalism based companies to content and PR companies. Value 360 and Times of India are some of the well known names in the industry that picked up students from our department. However I believe that the companies that come to the college for placement should actually offer a good package to the students. Last year around 60% of the students were placed.

Campus Life

5

Amity infrastructure is one of the best infrastructure and my personal favourite was library. Library has been updated with all the regular course books and along with that there is cafe coffee day within the library for students to relax. There is a lounge area in the library along with corners where students can sit and work on their assignments. Every class room is well air conditioned. Amity school of communication has all that it needs to be a good journalist. From radio station to computer labs and television newsroom, the department is well equipped with all the latest softwar needed by the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The institution itself claims that the B.Tech programme is designed to “develop the technical skills of aspirants” and emphasises modern tools and technologies. Some students say particular specialisations (e.g., CSE with AI/ML) are particularly “industry-ready”. The curriculum covers foundational engineering courses (physics, mathematics, basic engineering) in the early years and then branch-specific specialisations later. That breadth is good. Some student reviews point out that while the curriculum is generally relevant, it may lag in keeping up with the latest technology trends. For example:

Placement Experience:

Lucknow University does not have very strong campus placements for B.Sc students, as most companies prefer professional or technical courses like B.Tech or MBA. However, a few job fairs and placement drives are organized where companies from education, sales, and basic research roles visit. The placement opportunities usually start after the 5th semester. The average package offered is quite low compared to other professional colleges, and only a small percentage of students get placed through campus. Most B.Sc students prefer to go for higher studies like M.Sc, B.Ed or prepare for competitive exams such as SSC, Bank, UPSC, State PCS, etc.
