I opted for this college because it is in my home state. The college has a huge alumni base which is very essential for an individual to get a head start in his/her career. Faculty to student ratio is good. Student body is strong so all the grievances faced by a student is steadily solved. NUJS hosts one of the largest college fests in law school circle.

The course syllabus is on par with the international standard. Students are encouraged to do internships and are accordingly given ample number of days for the same. Professors have qualifications from prestigious institutions like Oxford and Cambridge.

Placement is handled by Campus Recruitment Committee (CRC), a student run body. Every top tier law firms from India like L&L Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB, JSA, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Trilegal visit and recruit fresh graduates from NUJS. Students opt for Judicial service, Civil service, In-house counsel role, Think tanks, NGOs, Litigation. Some students are offered prestigious scholarships like Rhodes, Chevening, Inlaks for LLM programs in Oxford, Cambridge and other esteemed institutions abroad.

Campus life cannot be expressed in words, it is an experience. Students are from all over India so there is never a day without fun. One can learn things that no dot com website can teach. College hosts Outlawed and Invicta very year in the month of February. It sees huge participation from law schools across the country.

I have not availed of any scholarships but some of my batchmates have been offered scholarships by Aditya Birla. It almost covers their university tuition fees.

College is of 5 acres. It is situated in the heart of Kolkata so all modes of transportations are easily accessible. Library is fully equipped with modern amenities and has subscribed to international journals. Books range from subjects related to law and social sciences. Wifi is provided in each and every class room.
