Remarks

The first point was a Steady placement track record which the college has provided in last few years which also included the 2007-08 recession year also. Apart from that Strong Alumni network and Continuous govt appraisal are some of the other key reasons.

Course Curriculum Overview

it was good exposure for me. The time I have joined there were certain aspects I was lacking seriously like personality, spoken english and confident presentation skills. But with the help of faculties like SMAK Azad, Anisur Rehman and Shreya Deb I have gained a lot of confidence in the 4 years of my stay. Also we were given good theoretical, practical as well as industrial exposure with the visits to various power plants and industries to understand it's operation.

Internships Opportunities

No, I haven't opted for any kind of internship. But the college has a very strong international and national collaboration with various institutes.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is one of the key aspects of any student's life and NIST is known for a strong placement record year after years. In 2015 Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Broadcom, Emphasis, and much more visited. Below is the placement chartInfosys (89)WIPRO (121)Capgemini (31)Emphasis (5)Broadcom (2)The college has a very good Placement cell which can pull a lot of good companies. Also, the Alumni Network is very strong which has a portal that supports people after college also in a job change.

College Events

4

Had An amazing campus life. We have various Clubs for the people thriving for their hobbies and interests to name a few like Renewable energy club, Robotics Club,Astronomy Club, Club Eureka and lots more. Also we have a annual Intra-College festival like Sankalp where students all over eastern India join to showcase their talents. We also have our annual Festival Waves which is inter-college level competition.

Campus Life

There is a very dedicated sports infrastructure in my college. Every year Arognaut Cup is organised which is a intra college Basketball championship. We have dedicated Volleyball court, Basketball court, Tennis court, Badminton court, Gymnasium, Cricket Field and lots more. Also there is a Asim Memorial Cup for cricket which our college promotes.

Hostel Facilities

I had a very amazing hostel life. We have two hostel buildings for boys which can accommodate approx 2500-2600 students. Also, there is a girls' Hostel that can accommodate approx 1100-1200 rooms are Single stay (which is available on merit), # sharing, 5 sharing, etc. The availability of hostel is not an issue and it is recommended also as the college campus is a bit far from the city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Course Curriculum Overview:

The pedagogy is excellent since majorly learning is through real-world case studies, reserach papers, peer discussions and interactive class activities. The professors provide materials and pre-reads at the starting of the term and the content is highly focussed on practical learning. The AI sessions are enriching. The difficulty level of exams vary among the instructors but usually is aligned with topics already taught.
