Bejjam Lakshman Roy's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Durgapur

It is the best for mechanical engineering and it has CMERI beside college and Durgapur steel plant and Jadavpur University, IIT Kharagpur,IIST Shibpur, ISM Dhanbad top colleges gives the motivation to go into that college. which also supports the many other industries near to it and many more to peak into it.

Till my batch course syllabus is old and in the later years the course syllabus is got better and the institute is taking proper measures to improve academics and the industrial exposure is bit outdated everything needs to develop in this case, and most of the faculty are college alumini's, to be presize most of them are experienced and N BENARJEE SIR, S S Roy sir, S karmakar sir and so on

I have opted for external paid internship and also we have internships provided by the campus it self

Plethora of companies do visit campus but most of companies take one or two and some mass companies takes people for mechanical only one or two companies will come and they to take randomly and everything which comes are sales and management companies. Campus alumni network is good but network for job referrals so worst

we had good number of fests which were celebrated in our college and presently we have two technical fests and one cultural fest and also others like cultural days celebrations of NSS,sports days and some small events by the club's which are formed in the campus to help the students to guide them in particular type of arts, technical and managerial paths and NSS which organises a no of events

I haven't availed any scholarship/ loan but college help us to find some good scholarship facilities like Jindal,ongc,NSP and few more but it needs some important documents which we have to submit in campus the scholarship granting solely depends on them and for applying some merit scholarship first your eligibility matters and you can avail only one scholarship. And also for loans the banks in the college give the support with college identity itself and the process for loans is simple

The main building was the oldest of all but it has been remodeled and many standards has been added and the new academic block was just lit. Coming to extracurricular activities it is compulsory for first year students optional for others but college encourages all types of games and supports the students to participate in national level and send to inter NIT tournaments and inter hall tournaments. WiFi facilities are poor in campus but at hostel we had high speed internet connection. library has been made spacious with a plethora of books for each subject with 3. Floors. Coming to they were just poor facilities in regarding mechanical but for other departments they are moderate to upto date

In default we have no choice we have to be in hostel compulsorily and for the first it would be strict regarding timing but later on hostels becomes just like house but the infrastructure for first be years is cool but for other the building with poor infrastructure the buildings with more than 50 years of history with patches and noisy and inefficient to fans and lousy old circuits but In recent years a new building was constructed to solve this issue which give high class ambience and having high speed internet facility and garden,small space for games like badminton, volly ball etc. And common hall with indoor game facilities.
