Remarks
The best college in India for bachelors in nanotechnology, the only other college is Amity which doesn't have good infrastructure. SRM has links with several institutes and state of the art instrumentation techniques.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's awesome, The best in India. The updated course for 2019 batch is much more advanced and keeps on updating every few years. The professors are highly experienced researchers and have exceptional knowledge in their domain
Internships Opportunities
IIT madras in 2nd yearSRM institute in 3rd yearGNS Science Newzealand in final yearStipend wasn't givenFor the first two, I emailed hundreds of professors where only a few replied in positive and took the chance therethe last was provided by the department after interview
Placement Experience
None for my department, every student goes on to do higher studies or changes department later. Might get into the mass recruiters but nothing in nanotechnology department. If you choose this field, be ready to study for several years
College Events
We have fests every semester. The odd semester fest is called aaruush, a tech fest, which is organised completely by students. The even semester fest is called Milan, a cultural fest, which is organised by faculty and students together. Other days there's some or the other thing going on in the campus, some quiz or MUNs, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
students with more than 9 CGPAare offered a scholarship, loans are available easily during counselling. Government organised scholarships via essay, etc is also available. People generally come here without loans.
Campus Life
HUGE! The library is awesome with digital and hard copies both, sports grounds are available for those who want to play, like football, badminton, volleyball, etc. WiFi connectivity is 24*7 in the campus as well as the hostels.
Hostel Facilities
I was in a normal hostel in first year, chennai is friggin HOT! I somehow managed to pass the year, next year I took the AC hostel which is good and had a pleasant life that year. Although the non ac hostels have a better hostel life(if you know what I mean) than ac hostels. Later I shifted to a flat.
