Course Curriculum Overview
The course has comprehensive structure. It is the combination of all the health sciences so we are taught all the major branches of health sciences. Each semester specializes in one particular health science subject so we study the subject in detail. Some of the subjects taught to us include Anatomy, Biochemistry I and II and Pathology. The subsidiary subjects include English and health care. The course requires lot of hard work and determination to carry out all the practical.
Placement Experience
This course being the interdisciplinary course has various future prospects. My seniors are working with the pathology labs, clinics, hospitals, health service institutions. Majority of them are carrying research in the research center of the campus. The placement cell is more research oriented in the campus. It enables the students to practically apply the theory that they read in the class room teaching.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since the college is funded by the state Government, the fees is not expensive. The total course costs INR 6,250 annually. I compared to other state run medical college and found it to be nominal. All other were bit expensive especially when it comes to medical courses. The medical courses are rigorous courses with lots of experiments and practical. So they are expensive.
Campus Life
The campus library which offers access to international medical books and journals is the most favorite spot for us to spend our time after the classes are over. There are smart room where classes take place through smart board and LCD projector. There are international students in the campus from different countries who are pursuing courses in yoga studies and Ayurveda. They can be seen chilling with us in the campus. Some of them even teach yoga to us.
Admission
I checked the course online on the website of the university. After reading the instructions and guidelines for the admission, I made my mind to take admission in the course. The process of taking admission in the university in Bachelors courses was quite simple and the university has further simplified the process by listing all the important points in the consolidated form and addressing the admission related issues. The minimum 50% aggregate is required to take admission in the course. I passed my 12th grade from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. So I fitted in the eligibility criteria of the course and qualified it. Finally my seat was reserved and admission was granted.
Faculty
All the faculty members are experts in their field. They are trained in their subjects and teach us giving examples from their life. They clear all our doubts. They sometimes take extra session for doubt clearing. Some of the scholar who are researching under them also teach us. They take our tutorials and give us direction in the allied health sciences field.
