Remarks

I have nothing negative to say about my college. It is a very good college with good quality education and amazing teachers. I made a lot of good memories and great friends. the environment is also very positive.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum for Physics (Hons) is very interesting. I got to study a lot of great subjects. The course is divided into 6 semester and in every semester evaluation is done on the basis of Internal and End-sem exams.

Placement Experience

There are less opportunities for placements after Bachelors in my college. But our management helps us to get teaching jobs in our college as well as schools. Most students go for masters so the students who want to work get plenty opportunities to work as teachers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fees for my course was pretty economical as compared to other colleges. I paid 5800 for one year which makes it approx 18,000 for the whole course. This includes academic fees and exams fees only.

Campus Life

There are many extracurricular activities held in our colleges like football tournaments, races, dance and music competitions. Our college believes in complete development of students apart from studies as well.

Admission

For admission the eligibility criteria is 55% aggregate marks in 12th boards and 60% marks in the subjects chose. In my case it was physics so I scored 66% in Physics. After filling the application form I got shortlisted in the merit list.

Faculty

Our faculty members were very educated and friendly at the same time. They were always there to assist inside and outside class. they took a lot of doubt classes and extra classes to re-teach concepts that were a little difficult.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
