Course Curriculum Overview

B. A in History is a three-year course which gives an in-depth knowledge about the history of our country along with geography and strong command over the English language. There was no entrance examination, the admission is based on the merit of the candidate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is quite feasible if compared to many other colleges. The annual fee is approximately 1900 INR and as the course is for 3 years the total fees come somewhere around 5900 INR. I find the college pretty affordable.

Campus Life

The college has a strict policy against ragging, smoking or drinking in the campus and keeps sight on its students to make sure that they are not indulging in any foul activity. There is a pretty library which is a paradise for readers.

Admission

The admission process in this college is a pretty simple one. I had to fill an online application form, as the college releases a merit list, I had to wait to get my name into the merit list. I got a call from the college called after a couple of days regarding my admission and was asked to visit along with the documents.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is quite great, the professors are very knowledgeable and solve every query related to the academics, no matter how many times we raise one. The assistant professor of Ancient history is the best professor that I reckon.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
