MY EXPERIENCE AT SIMB NAGPUR

The course curriculum is divided into four semesters. It is updated mostly every two years. In the first year, that is, first two semesters, we mostly learn about general MBA subjects and then we study about our specialisation in the next two semesters. It is a very well structured and broadly laid curriculum that SIBM follows.

Apart from bringing various companies to the campus, the placement cell of SIBM also organises talks, study abroad seminars, internship opportunities and workshops for the collective student body. Its primary focus is of providing a helping hand to students in their initial step into the world of work, thereby creating a legacy. They also focus on building everlasting bonds with the corporate partners.

The total course fee for my course was 13.20 lakhs which is paid on semster basis. The tutition fee was 650000 INR for one year. The fees is expensive but considering the facilities provided at the college, I think it was justified.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management provides Scholarship for its students. It offers financial aid to students enrolled in postgraduate programmes on the basis of scores obtained in SNAP entrance exam. It also offers a scholarship to a girl student under Jayatee Deshmukh Scholarship scheme on the basis of scores obtained in SNAP entrance exam. And fee concessions are provided to needy students joining Symbiosis Institutes for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs by Symbiosis international University. Education loan are also provided he University offers PG Merit Scholarship, under MBA programme. And Students who are declared as the topper of the first semester are eligible for the scholarship, a student must have a minimum GPA of 7.50 to apply for this scholarship.

The Student?s CO-CURRICULAR COMMITTEE SYMFONIA at SIBM Nagpur makes sure the students have a platform for to showcase their talents and create awareness about social causes making our campus culturally rich and diverse which fosters joy and celebration. Some of the activities conducted are Debate Competition, International yoga day, Hindi diwas, Cricket Bash, National youth day, International mother language day, International poetry day, Ted Talks and there are various others.

Admission process at my college was very easy and was not weary as admission processes are assumed to be. The Eligibility criteria was as follows: Graduation from any recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and 45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes. A graduate from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU). One has to fill the application form for the course they want to opt for and then register for SNAP, Symbiosis National AptitudeTest. The application fee for SNAP is Rs 1,750 for all programmes. Candidates can pay the application fee online as well as offline. Admission to MBA programme is based on SNAP scores. The candidate must hold a bachelor?s degree in the relevant discipline, to apply for the same. However, the final selection of students will be based on the SNAP scores and the performance in Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT).
