Remarks
The admission procedure of the college was very simple. One has to make an ID on the SPPU website and apply for there desirable course They took an Online entrance test in which 20 aptitude questions were asked and the rest 80 were related to law. The time limit was hours which was more than sufficient to complete the exam. My college is a public state university spread over 411 acres approx with abundant greenery spread over the campus. I preferred this college as the course (LLM) that I opted for was of 1 year over here and in the rest of the colleges, it was of 2 years. The nearby area is also good, there is a mall which is just at a walking distance of 5 minutes and varu=ious food outlets.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I wanted to pursue my master's degree in corporate law. And the best part is that here LLM is only for a year whereas in the rest of the colleges it is for 2 years. Just below my department is the canteen and the infrastructure of my department is also good. It has approx 5 classrooms which are sufficient as the intake is only of 120 students, 4 staffrooms with 7 teachers and 3 office staff, a well-equipped library, a computer lab, and a study room. Every classroom has a projector on it. Majorly the teachers use the digital method of teaching i.e using ppts or words documents or through websites. All the faculties have done their PhD. Talking about the exams, the department takes exams regularly also we have 5 tutorials for every subject, along with assignments and Longish term papers.
Placement Experience
No, as such no campus placement is there in the college. I have planned to enter into the corporate world as a legal advisor after getting my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
I belong to the general category and was no a domicile of Maharashtra my fees were approx 1 lakhs ( which included hostel fees as well). But the fees of the students who have a domicile in Maharastra varied. It was almost half if compared with mine. Also, from time to time they were offered scholarships from the Maharashtra government. No campus jobs are being assured by the department.
Campus Life
Various fests are being held from time to time. In February starting all the departments allot days to the students in which they have to dress in accordance with the theme. It was quite fun as I had never experienced wearing a Maharashtrian saree. The college has a library named Jayakar Library which is the central library having 6 floors, a reading room having a capacity of 600 students at a time. The library is having 4,80,000 books,4500 multilingual handwritten books, and e-journals. The classroom is having a projector and sufficient seating capacity of students in one go. There are almost all the sports that students can opt to in college. Also, there is a gymkhana with a minimal registration fee of 400 per month
Hostel Facilities
The procedure for the hostel is easy. You need to fill in the registration for initially whether you want to stay in the hostel or not. Then when your admission is confirmed the concerned authorities shall allot you the hostel number and the room. There are approx 9 girls hostel on the campus. The hostel timing is till 10 pm and you can come till 12 pm if you have an out pass with you. The infrastructure is okay. They accommodate 6-8 people in some of the rooms which create a mess in the room. The majority of the room is 4 seater or 2 seaters. The hostel food is very bad, thus the majority of the girls have taken tiffin service from outside.
