I took CET (Common entrance test) my state rank 6135, GIT is the top and best college in north karnataka my stream was mechanical as I was in love with Machines.
Course Curriculum Overview
Excellent, was a bit out-dated but was centralized towards core basics of mechanical, curriculum was set by VTU, university belgaum, electives were project management and Tool design a set of electives were given to choose from.
Internships Opportunities
We dont have a internship program under the university but students interned voluntarily over different companies some companies were Vega Helmets, tata marcopolo.
Placement Experience
80% placement for IT and EC background, and also mechanical placements were less but job opportunities in the industry were plenty and encoranging.
College Events
OCULUSA departmental fest of Mechanical engineering, AVALANCHE, a national level tech fest, AURA a national level cultural fest, AURA is organised every year and the biggest fest in north karnataka, bringing about a foot fall of 15,000 people around different colleges, Shankar mahadavan's live concert was organised during AURA'15.
Faculty
Faculty were well trained and a mix of senior and juniors there were many IIT alumini as teachers. Teachers possessed a sound background of the subjects and were subject matter experts.
