Entrance Preview

I took the Kerala state entrance. I got 4322. This was the college alloted for me. I chose Mechanical Engg because i was passionate about it. You can get admitted if you have a rank under 5000to get a merit seat. For a management seat you have to get under 10000 rank. online allotment will be done according to the rank you got. There are also some NRI seats available which have huge fees. This college is under IHRD and is a self financing college. Admission process is pretty normal. Bring all documents and around 8k for all funds like PTA, Bus fund and all

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course was of Mechanical engg for me. I was under 2012 scheme. Every six years the scheme changes . First year would have 10 subjects three labs which is common for all. In first year there is no semester. From 2nd year there are two semesters. Each semester have 6 subjects and 2 labs. 6th sem will have a mini project, sem 7 will have a seminar and sem 8 have the main project. Total marks will be of 8000. 75% is the distinction. 60% is the first class.

Internships Opportunities

No internship from college . Do internship of your own. College will support it. some students arrange inernships in college. No stipend will be paid. Every internship are done on the 2 mnths vacation every year.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell is not that good. TCS come and get a lot of students. No mech companies came to recruit us. Placement cell is active here. The students who got jobs are in IT companies like infosys. They get around 3 lakhs per annum.

College Events

4

In cea every day is celebrated ,though, Arts and sports are main events every year. They are celebrated for three days. At the end of arts there will be college day. Almost all major events are there in arts. The college is divided into 4 houses and they are competed. Winners can participate to the university level. Other major event is the tech fests called TIESTA, MORAX organised every two years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasibe. It is 20k per year and the hostel and food expenses are therer. It will all be under 4k. Some scholarships are given by college. There will be some fund raisers for sports and arts and examination every year. Fees is 20000 for merit seat. 65000 for management seat and above 1 lakh for NRI seat. These fees might change according to the government orders. I had a merit seat. It was feasible. Only govt colleges have less fee structure than this. Other than this there are hostel expenses too. Hostel expenses will be under 4k per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

College PTA gives full fee concession to students with top ranks. Also you can apply for scholarships from govt, if eligible. I got Merit cum means scholarship for minoritycommunity. Loans are not available from college , you have to deal with banks for that.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is awesome in here. There are no huge campus area. The campus is around 1 acre. But it is beautiful. There are lovers corner , cafeteria, library, football , basketball, volleyball courts etc. Extracurricular activities are performed on behalf of the forums. All kind of activities are available. Gender ratio is equal. But in mech branch there are no girls. Politics is present there.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is one hostel inside the campus for boys and girls. The college provides one ladies and gents hostel. There are also other private hostels as paying and rooms or houses. All ladies hostels have food facility but most gents hostel dont have food facilities. Inside the college there is a canteen except for the night time. Hostel rooms are mainly double rooms, attached bathrooms. All facilities are available. Rentals are almost same for every hostel and is feasible.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnis dont come back soon. No successfull people come to take lecture. While senior students are a huge help. they help you think what to don and what not to do.There is no amuni network in the college but they do raise fund for it.

Exam Structure

Lab exams are conducted by the internal faculty, and will have viva questions. Labs were fun for me as i was good at machines. So I was chilling out.Every semester contains 2 internal exams of 50 marks, one university exam of 100 marks for each subject. Internals are out of 50 marks (25 marks from the internals, 10 for attendance, 15 for assignments). Lab exams will be out of 100 marks ( 50 internal and 50 externals).

Faculty

3.5

Faculty for mechanical engg in this college is pretty strong. Only the mechanical branch is strong here. Faculty is experiencec and will answer all your doubts. So Faculty standard for mech branch is high and other branches are not that good. Faculty will be not be a crucial factor in getting marks. They give us internals out of 50. I studied my own and didnt listen to classes and got first class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
