IIT Palakkad is from the new tier of IITs. I got in touch with the female students and Professors through the Jee Helpdesk. I asked them, why they joined this place. I was scared that I won't get good experience as it's one of the new IITs. Their answers and their youtube page confirmed that they have a lot of opportunities for students. After the result of Jee advanced, I enroll myself with JOSAA website. On the website, I have to fill up my list of preferences which involved College Name and the course. Before IIT Palakkad - Electrical Engineering, I had IIT Dhanbad - Electronics Engineering. After that, I had lined up Electrical Engineering at other new IITs. My name reason to choose IIT Palakkad over those was because through the pictures and news available at the college website, campus looked well established and very beautiful.I have spent four years studying in IIT Palakkad and it has completely transformed me. When you're studying for JEE Mains or Advanced, sometimes you give up your hobbies or maybe everything and focus on studies. This place gave me a chance to rewrite myself, nurture my talents. I am a part of the technical clubs, the annual techno-cultural fest and manage my studies. If I chose an old well established IIT, I might have never got these many chances to explore. In terms of academics, I am so glad that I chose the Department of Electrical Engineering here because they have such vast variety of courses to choose from and it has been so much easier to work in interdisciplinary fields like Robotics.
